I have worked outside the home, and been a stay at home wife and mom. The happiest times for me have always been the years that I have been at home. Keeping house, making meals, and supporting my husband while he works. My mom was a homemaker, and there for me when growing up. She was a great example!

It's so counter to popular culture, isn't it? It might almost seem immoral to somebody raised with feminism and the culture of empowered women and weak men. like you see on tv.
This song tells my life and I love being a homemaker! I can't think of a happier life. I have been home now for almost thirty years! I now watch my daughter in law learn to be a homemaker and provide all her love to my son and their two children. It's not popular, it is a sacrifice, there is not a lot of glory in it, but I'd eat beans everyday and sacrifice material things to stay home and take care of my famiy!
I've always thought this song was absolutely beautiful but its subject matter a little...odd. I'm glad there is at least one homemaker on here validating it. I truly love the song.
Hey I love paul overstreet, i grew up listening to his tapes, "sowin love" and "heroes". thanks for posting this song, ive not been able to find either of those tapes on cd and i miss listening to them. On another great song that i love of his is "what God has joined together". Thanks for adding this great country singers songs on here!

I love this song. I'm proud to be my husbands girlfriend and my 4year old best friend. I love knowing when my baby cry's I know what she needs.
It's not easy being a one income family but we are strong and close and in the end my children will have memories of us her family.
