dude she is THE metal chick of the eighties... that robot girl got me wishin... upside down, the drummer gettin the hot one.... but they were all hot... PLUNK better than any poison roundmouth brett michaels song SEND HER TO MEEEEEEE
You, gotta keep the rock alive!!!!! keep playin and dont forget the time when music was actually music..........NOT like fuckin britains got talent or Xfactor.....and the digitized, electronically altered crumox thats in the charts today!!!!
These guys should get back together and play Firefest., along with 'White Sister' and 'Icon'. They would put most the bands on this years line up to shame!
Autograph was the opening act for Bryan Adams @ KS Coliseum April '85. The original not that new tin can downtown. I remember this band tearin' some serious stage... The drummer had belts of ammo draped over his kit!
@Pedratempa Haha, I'd rather put this band in the same category as Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber than the bands I'm Listening too(Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Phideaux, Sigur Ros).
This music is pretty much the same as the commercial shit you hear on the radio today, it's just twenty years older.
Whatever, I better accept your musical taste though. It's a little better than Miley Cyrus. ;) Bye bye!
Uh, no. Autograph wrote its own music and performed the instrumentation. And the players tore up their instruments, big time. Plus, this shit ROCKED. Is the lyrical matter cheese? Sure it is. But who cares? It's fun and inspires intense air-guitar-ing. And besides, two words: Steve and Lynch.
@TheTrueFortress Totally agree. These guys could actually play. I believe the solo from Turn Up the Radio won solo of the year? Also, David Lee Roth was so impressed with these dudes he asked them to open for Van Halen's 1984 tour, and it was before they were even signed!
The solo DID win, I believe, Guitar (World?) magazine's solo of the year. And the band toured with VH on its 1984 tour, yeah. Shame Ed was a wank to Steve, not allowing him to do any tapping stuff, as it was "his thing". Unfortunately, Lynch lost a lot of respect for Edward during that run. But Eddie's always struck me as being non-self-assured, if you catch my drift. Always feeling threatened (some of this warranted, mind you).
@TheTrueFortress Thats Eddie. I wonder how much of his disagreeable behavior comes from his drinking problem.....either way, I love him all the same. Glad he's sobered up and is ready to save us from Justin Bieber and Katy Perry in 2011!!
I remember he almost died just before the Loud and Clear LP was released. Too bad it finally caught up with him. I met him back in 1987. A really nice guy.
Wow sorry for your loss I knew him through Plunk and the band Nice guy I have some pics of the guys from the VH warmup show and rehearsals as well as Turn up the radio...
Thank God for the internet. It's been 23 years since I've seen this video (only once) & I still remember the concept. 1 of the most underated bands of the 80's & 1 of their best songs (and an awsome album). Thanks
I thought this was the coolest video I'd ever seen when i was a kid. Still one of my all-time favourite videos till now. Love how they match the girls to reflect each guy. In fact, I like this song so much, I bought the album on vinyl at a car boot sale back in my student days even though I knew I'd never be able to play it.
It's sad that these guys didn't make it bigger, I think they were great. I see hints of the Def Leppard sound, the Van Halen sound (to me), and maybe some Poison, if you want to get creative.
