This movie has aged really well. And the comment about the movie predicting the DVD somehow highlights this. Though it's not just the disc ( DVD ). The movie itself does not look dated. Not just an awesome move. Also timeless.

@Com18Alpha It's the "future" as extrapolated from the '80s which was the era when the Desert Eagle was coming into its own as sort of a film icon. We just have to fill in the gaps with our imagination. It's most likely not .50 AE. Did you ever see Red Heat? Arnie uses a Desert Eagle that was given an Eastern Bloc makeover. Looked like it was hybridized with a CZ52.

Another funny thing with RoboCop is the way the script writer handled the three bastards -- Bob, Clarance, and Dick. Bob gets discarded pretty soon, then the other two get the same treatment later on, one by one! :D

I love this movie......LOVE IT!!!! But in real life, let me tell you as somebody with 10yrs infantry experience, you cannot pull the pin out from a fragmentation personal grenade with your teeth. You just can't. Unless you have the teeth of a Neanderthal or just down care about how your smile will turn out in photos. We had an instructor, in our course, Nicknamed 'Gums'. Guess why?

@hldx9 It wasn't that hard to predict in 1987. There were already CDs around for music, as well as laserdiscs for movies/video, so it wasn't some amazing leap to think that video/movies would be put on a smaller CD type format in the "near future" from 1987...i.e., sometime in the 1990s.
