thats just one of the most amazing efforts i have ever seen.... i agree with what one of the people commented down there, it was this moment where i knew the hawks were going to win, media next day said it was stuart dew that got the hawks going...bullshit, cyrils tackling effort and goal a couple of minutes later got the hawks believeing
Think bruce summed it up perfectly when he said "you just can't teach that, it's natural instinct". He wouldn't care about the rising star, he got something Palmer won't get for a bit if he stays at Freo.
no way, rioli is a good player. but he got no respect from opposition teams because of the of the stars from hawthorn that they had too concentrate on stopping so he played under the radar. Palmer was racking up big numbers, influencing games, even though he copped a hard tag every week because of freos lack of good midfielders.
oh please rioli is 10 times the footballer palmer is, he cant kick for shit and the only reason he racked up big numbers is because they knew he had shit disposal so they let him go, how many junk possies did he get? rioli hardly ever has junk possies.
superstar, we didnt need to draft another 30 something meaningless touches midfielder, instead we got Junior Boy who wins a grand final with 10 of the most devastating touches ever witnessed
I talk regularly to Hawthorn great Peter Hudson's father 'Bob', and he thinks this kid could be one of the best in the country in the near future. Cyril's determination on GF day was one of the driving forces behind this win. Absolutely inspirational play.
Thats the play that won the flag for the Hawks. He was my pick for the Norm Smith medal as well; he played inspired footy. That tackle, the crumbing goal off the long kick by Dewie, and the centre bounce free kick, when he was the only one who wanted the ball. A gun player, who will only get better! That's what I'm talking about.
i go 4 geelong but great tackle cyril and max... just cause he is little does mean you can leev him in the dust

I was sitting right in front of where Rioli executed that brilliance. It was the moment when you knew the Hawks had them.

thats cos he got lucky and got picked up by a good team. palmer deserved rising star even though he's not going to get a premiership for a while.
