  • It is named Pa'iloa Beach at Wai'anapanapa State Park near Hana (I've been there twice). It IS beautiful, and there is a lot to see in a fairly small concentrated area at this park: Black Sand Beach, Lava Tube/Sea Cave, Sea Arch, Blowhole (not going either time we were there). Definitely worth a stop on the way to Hana! We're going back next Summer, 2011, and taking the kids this time!

  • @rlathrop101 Thanks for helping out on this. We're returning to Maui right before you - May-June 2011. And yes, our daughters always seem to be able to miraculously free up their schedules when a trip to Maui is planned.

  • i LOVED the Road to Hana. But only because i was 14 and i didnt have to drive it hahaha! It was so BEAUTIFUL! Loved black sand beach with the lava tube. i never wanted to leave. Whats the real name of the black sand beach??

  • @TheBassguy1 Looks like the next poster answered your question. I love knowledgeable people!

  • @TheBassguy1 Well dont expect me to be knowledgeable in anything other than earthquakes and music. Thats all i pay attention to. OH! When i was at "Black Sand Beach," there were a bunch of... Mongeese? Mongooses? Mongi? Whats plural for Mongoose? Anyways, i saw a ton of those running around lol.
