DSP, it would benefit you if you would switch to a lighter shield and armor. I noticed your armor and shield were weighing you down..alot. Also, I used mostly ranged combat during this boss battle. I tried to avoid close encounters as much as possible, with the ocassional hit or two.
This game is amazing, it is so rewarding when you use the mechanics of the game correctly, the problem is Phil by nature is not suited to this style of game. He is a smart guy & when it comes to mechanics in general he has it in him if he puts in the effort to learn and master mechanics. Spend time grinding some areas (like the Burg) to get your levels up, especially Vitality and Endurance, with Strength and a little Dexterity as needed or for a particular weapon. As a Knight, you shouldn't be rolling unless necessary...that's what the shield is for. The class is built to be stable, assuming you're spending some time gaining souls and leveling the above stats (which you haven't been). Also, keep your equip load under 50% of the total...faster sprint and rolls.

@Hassanlilak best farm spot is right by darkroot garden with the 2 mages and the invisible dude. at 6,000 souls a pop, I leveled up 30 times in one hour
actually the best farm spot is in anor londo, but you won't get to it if you don't want to kill a major covenant character. It will also put you on the list of the Darkmoon. (You can get 10k Souls per killed knight)

And rolling works... but this game requires you to TIME your rolls. You don't get 2 seconds of invincibility, you have about half a second.
Go spam the X button on Arkham City, with the occasional 10 second window for counter attacks... that game is more for you.

Spend time grinding some areas (like the Burg) to get your levels up, especially Vitality and Endurance, with Strength and a little Dexterity as needed or for a particular weapon. As a Knight, you shouldn't be rolling unless necessary...that's what the shield is for. The class is built to be stable, assuming you're spending some time gaining souls and leveling the above stats (which you haven't been). Also, keep your equip load under 50% of the total...faster sprint and rolls.

All of his problems, every single difficulty he has had, is explained in the fucking game. All of his questions? Answered in the manual and the fucking tutorial, but he didn't even read any of it. @hourzones The game just came out, most of us are playing it for the first time. I didn't play Demon's Souls or understand the mechanics at first either. However I made an effort to learn and I'm loving the game.
The thing about Dark Souls it punishes you heavily for mistakes and he is making a ton of them.

I dont get why so many people dislike this. Its a guy playing through the game just like any other person. For those of you who think he is so retarded, and have a serious problem with his videos, then stop watching them. Its sad that ppl can be so amazingly lonely that they have nothing better to do then continue to watch episode after episode of a series, only to get really angered at how much they hate it, and rage on the comments. 3. Farm souls in undead church and get Titanite Shards
4. Upgrade armor, Shield or weapons with souls
5. Level up Vitality for HP and defense boost if you can´t survive.
6. Have fun and prepare to die.

actually the best farm spot is in anor londo, but you won't get to it if you don't want to kill a major covenant character. It will also put you on the list of the Darkmoon. (You can get 10k Souls per killed knight)
