  • my garret ace 250 is coming next week

  • @MrIHateStuff Good luck with it, mate, am sure you'll have a lot of fun with it. I know CB (CoinageBritannia) has a 250 and is making loads of finds lately, including his first Roman and hammered silvers. All the best and HH, Ian.

  • what kind of metal detector??

  • @titans1355 Hi titans, am using a Garrett Eurpoace 350. I put up a series of videos covering a field test I did on this in Feb & Mar this year. If you're interested you can view these via my youtube site. All the best, Ian.

  • hi watched alot of your vids, just wanted to say keep up the good work,by the way like the way you work your fields,me normaly quarter and then look for hot spots then line out, great vid's

    best regards chavey

  • @chavey65 Hi, glad you enjoy the vids, mate, I used to quarter the fields but then realised I was missing out on loads of finds so started stringing first and just kept on that way. I don't necessarily get all the finds but at least I cover all the ground. Good luck and HH, Ian.

  • Nice vida again Ian and some nice coins along the way, keep em coming, HH mate.

  • @magpie307 Hi Magpie, glad you enjoyed this, mate, may be a while till another one comes out as the grass is just too long and thick to detect properly right now. Hoping John will be out soon with the tractor and mower to cut the grass down to level again. HH, Ian.

  • Another well cool vid Ian, I'm looking forward to the next one.

    All the best.

    John.

  • @OLDGOLD1100 Hi John, thanks for the comment , mate, glad you're enjoying the videos. HH, Ian.

  • Great video as always! I used the rope and stake technique in trying to find that property line post. It helped but I still could not find it! However, your strategy assured that I covered the ground adequately! Thanks my friend!

  • @GrizzlyGroundswell Thanks for the comment, Grizzly, I think it's well worth the time to be sure of covering the ground properly, though I still haven't found my gold hoard yet, at least I'm scooping up everything else!! Good luck & HH, Ian.

  • @Janhyooz You will find your cache! I love your systematic approach and strategy to assure that you grab all the history beneath your toes! Thanks again and don't forget, Temerity Magazine submissions deadline is coming up, July 20th!

  • @GrizzlyGroundswell Hi Grizzly, re temerity magazine submissions, Supersnoopy in Townsville, Australia, just found his first ever gold coin, madsonicboating in New Zealand, just had a record silver day with 20 silvers in one day and I just got my first Elizabeth 1st hammered silver, dating 1572. Is this the kind of stuff you were looking for? All the best, Ian.

  • @Janhyooz Congratulations to you all! Yes, and I am looking for the story recovered. For example, you could find a bunch of worthless relics, but it may piece together a story about the property or its history that may not of been known or needs to be told. Or a new strategy used such as your rope to systematically cover every square inch of the property, or even product reviews. I am leaving it up to you. What do you want Temerity Magazine to be? What do you like to read and share?

  • I love the discipline of your hunts, very civilized with the string lines to work off, unlike my aimless wanderings LOL. I did actually grid an old site once and it makes I huge difference I know. Once again you have had great success in the field. My favourite was the KGIII Farthing. Well done and best wishes. HH.

  • @NQExplorers Thanks, mate, I used to 'aimlessly wander', till I found out I was either veering to the right or left, leaving big spaces in between that weren't being detected and, of course, missing loads of finds. I now use the string lines wherever possible, takes time but it does make a huge difference. Good luck and HH, Ian.

  • plenty of coin finds you had,,seems like alot went on there ,good field and probably much more to come yet,,look forward to the next one

  • @SuperJammygit Hi, mate, yes I've had a lot of finds so far in the first fields, will be interesting to see what comes up in the fields that are outside the oval enclosure.

  • Another great video as usual. That's a nice group of finds and some BIG buttons. Be nice if they would hay that field for you. Can't wate to see what you turn up next! HH

  • @PlugMartian Thanks, Plug, I think the fields will be cut late August or September, if ti ever stops raining that is!! HH, Ian.

  • The Maestro returns! Love the post-1860 Copper Coinage, very attractive series in my opinion. I would guess the second Penny is probably Victorian. I found a similar plough damaged variety that looks similar to yours.

  • @CoinageBritannia Try to keep your lead. It has a scrap price

  • @CoinageBritannia Hi, CB, I always keep the lead, copper, brass and aluminium scrap, usually weigh it in at year end of whenever the buckets get full. HH, Ian.

  • @Janhyooz Awesome! Glad to know you aren't missing out on extra revenue! New video is up btw

  • @Janhyooz Can't remember which video you were Talking about the FLO and reclassifying finds in, but I have some good news of my own. A copper alloy handle I found, turns out to be a c14th Century Vessel Handle.

  • @CoinageBritannia Hi CB, One of the finds is form 'The Old Homestead' video, one is from 'The Medieval Site Field 1' and another from Field 2, that didn't even make it onto the video!!. I'm hoping to have the video put together by this weekend. Congratulations on the 14th C. handle, mate, awesome!!!, HH, Ian.

  • @Janhyooz Thanks Mate. It is up of UKDFD Under 'Vessel Handle' Ref 32022

  • @CoinageBritannia Very nice, CB, you going to come up with the vessel that this belonged to next? HH, Ian.

  • @Janhyooz Possibly! That would be fantastic, as the relic does seem to have see use, so possibly other parts to it are out there.

  • @CoinageBritannia Yes I get a lot of these, CB, very difficult to identify, but am sure you're right on this.
