@ItsRoozz They sure did try to make that sound. It has always been one copycat after the next. For that I am glad. (except for hip-hop, rap, disco, C&W)
@ISamuelII Yup that's right. But they always make their own sound, they won't sound exactly like the Beatles (Or other bands. Maybe, they don't know it, but they'll always sound original. Yes, a bit Beatle-like. but not exactly the same ^_~
@ItsRoozz The list would have this one, I love anything that has a tripy tone, the strings are fryin, Long Tall Woman in a Black Dress, Bus Stop, The Air That I Breath (this one I really loved as I listened late into the night on top 40 *). You really had to be there to hear what was passed off as popular music i nthe main stream to appretiat how these hippy types changes the radio. Think Pat Boone in his prime then these chords and arrangments show up. "We're in heaven man"
This is funny and cute video... you have Graham, Bobby, Bernie, Tony, and Allan walking out the door. Then you have them in the bar throwing darts. It is just a cool video.
The latest per Tony Hicks on a BBC Radio interview is that he and Bobby Elliott can't make it to the ceremony because the latest version of the Hollies will be performing in Europe that night. He said that they were sad that they could not make it.
I'm really sorry to hear that. We probably have seen the last chance in our life time to see the Hollies get back together again. Thats really sad news... I don't think they know the important's of the R & R Hall of Fame and what it means to the fans.
This song just has one of those sounds that you can't ever forget. Not that you'd want to. I'm in my early 34's and The Hollies are one of my favorites. Did they ever make a bad song?
I'm 45 years old, and the only tune (or maybe that should be recording) from the Hollies I wasn't fond of would have to be their 1968 version of Dylan's "Blowin' In The Wind". Other than that I can't think of any song that was bad (and even that one remake wasn't that bad, just uneven IMHO -- at least the fast version, the slower version was actually kind of good).
oh yeah...their writing wasn't quite as strong as other groups or composers...but whatever they did had some quality to it. You mentioned the sound of this song...I agree, except their live version in Germany is really really cool!
Great sound quality. As much as I like Graham, I think the entire group is very under rated. Think about what groups formed afterward.. Hollies gave us Graham Nash. The Birds, David Crosby; Buffalo Springfield, Steven Stills...you know the rest!!!.
I can't decide which part I like the best, the part where Allan is rubbing his stomach, or the intense stare after he throws the dart? I think I shall say I enjoyed both parts immensly. haha.
Thanks for another great video nyrainbow4. You've made alot of Hollies fans happy. This is slightly different than the already posted "stop, stop, stop" promo video. I like this one better...much better quality and it seems like the original version(without Graham and Allan interview). Tony looks extra cute in this one too! Thanks!

@ItsRoozz If I were forced to make out a top 100 songs list, the Hollies would have at least three positions.

The hollies were great, just because of their instrumental skills, and voices.

Make that early 30's....not early 34's. God, I don't break it down into early and late months.

Anyone know the name of the pub that this was filmed at, where it is, and if it still exists? When I go to England I want to be sure to stop there.
Thanks!
