@BassBabyTV thanks a lot man!! yeah they definitely do! they put up a much better fight than largemouths!! it's too bad i only caught less than half the full fight on camera!!
Hey, what kind of boat was that? And how much did it cost? I NEED a good boat for bass fishing if i am ever going to hook into one. Those rental row boats from the boathouse are so tippy, you have to stay completely still in them. That boat you have there looks perfect. I want to start catching some bass, but i need a good boat to do it in. I dont have money for a bass boat.
@physchohead24 it's a 10 foot livingston that my friend bought and he custom built a platform so that it's entirely flat. i'm not sure how much he spent on the boat, trolling motor, outboard motor, etc. but my suggestion would be to look on craigslist.
@physchohead24 ya know you really dont need a boat. my dad is afraid of water, (weird right?) so we just fish off shore or off docks, and i caught 8 largemouth bass a little bigger than that fish he caught....
@k232322 ehh.. actually around here you really do need a boat to be able to cover a lot of water. the shore fishing is pretty limited around many of the lakes here.
@FishingNYC haha it was such an adrenaline rush! i get super excited anytime i have a fish that size on regardless of what type of pole i was using. using the pen rod just elevated that excitement beyond what it usually is :)
Elijah, That was an awesome vid. Cool thing the hatcam! Yeah, that vid says it all,, isn't the adrenaline rush that you get from stuff like that hard to explain to someone that doesn't fish.
Well PNW, that was really fun to watch! I'm familiar with how strong smallies are and you had your hands full on that ultra lite rod/reel. Very beautiful fish and it won't be your last big one, I'm sure. How deep were you drop shotting and were you using robo worms?
@Winkiedoodles depth wise, my guess would be approximately 8 - 10 feet and i casted right beside a floating dock. i was just using nightcrawlers hoping for a smallmouth but mainly catching rock bass. then i hooked into this pig :). i wanted to use gulp minnows but they didn't have any at the walmart we went to. ive used roboworms before rigged wacky on a drop shot and catch huge rockbass and a couple small largies but no smallies yet.
@FishingThePNW OK, gotcha. The "drop shotting" we do on these main lakes is in very deep (30-50 feet) of water with florocarbon line; 6 lb test leader. Works great but you have to have a good depth finder to find the suspended fish.
Nice job man. I wish i had a place to fish like that :)

@Winkiedoodles oh wow, yeah, we don't have any fancy electronics, we just fish the docks mainly and haven't tried fishing any deep waters.
