I remember going in one of these sessions, very professional and enjoyed it very well. My ID was [PILOTROACHJ] not sure if you still remember me. I never get the chance to go on fsx ,too much studying.

If you do go online I would suggest going on Vatsim. Thats what i do now.

bought this online and just waiting for delivery, i want to fly online and talk to real people not a computer, but dont think i'll get all the ATC talk.

does anybody know of a tutorial online just outlining what to say? if not consider this a request for a video.

Try practicing using the built-in ATC, also for IFR clearances. Most of the lingo used in the built-in ATC is pretty similar to real-world ops, any differences are also dependent on the organisation you're flying on. When in doubt, don't be afraid to ask :)

Er no. ATC RT differs around the world. It only differs on FSX servers as the level of intellegence lowers.

What does "push back face south" mean? Is it to make sure that there is no traffic on the pushback taxiway?

When the Air Traffic Controller sais "Push back and face south" he wants the aircraft to pushback, and face their nose to the South of their gate. Once this is done, the aircraft can easily taxi forward and make the turn. Once they are faced south of their gate, they will contact tower and he will then give them the taxiways, runway to hold at, and the tower freq.

I don't know if you knew this or not but you have to push and hold Caps Lock to talk. You can not talk when in the chat box. Also, when you are in the Briefing Room, just push and hold CTRL to talk in the Briefing room. Once again CTRL when in briefing room, Caps Lock when in the session and ready to fly or atc.

It is pretty easy, just get a gamespy account, sign in on fsx multiplayer, and then choose your session. If you want the option of being Air Traffic Controller then you will need FSX Deluxe Edition. I am an Air Traffic Controller just like the guy on the video above.

If you play enough, it all comes to you, but you have to play multiplayer to learn some of the terms, but in free flight if you use IFR in Free Flight, then you will learn alot of terms. I have been playing FSX for 4 years now, it is the best game I have ever seen!

You need FSX Deluxe Edition to have the Air Traffic Control Tower option. Since you only have the standard version, you can only fly an aircraft. You will not be able to "ATC" unless you get FSX Deluxe Edition.
