  • Thumbs up if you live in Indiana! Woo hoo go Hosiers!

  • Holly cow At 10:00 thats a Russian PTRD 41!

  • Love your channel buddy, Lots of very useful info! I live in Lowell and this is right down the street from me. I was in scouts with Adam the guy in the turret at 1:30. Keep up the great reviews! Thanks!

  • Lol when I looked in one of the tents there was POWERADE in there

  • RDP!!

  • I found your channel via hickok45. I used to live in Lowell. Small world.

  • @demomanmatt Yup, it's a small world for sure. I'm glad you found the channel!

  • i really do miss Lowell. that was my home for many years.

  • 00:23 u say the guns are deactivated, u are wrong. Deactivated guns wont fire at all, those guns are real and just have blank fire adapters on them. Just saying. just a correction not being mean

  • In my spare time I like to dress up like a Nazi and run around the woods with other fat guys. Am I the only one who finds this a little sick?

  • i wish u could combine this with airsoft or paintball

  • @bigredmatt13 for paintball you have Oklahoma D-Day, its a one week battle, with thousands of players and I belive a airborn division within, and you have to pass a obstical corse to play, as for airsoft I do not know of one because I dont play airsoft.....

  • friking awesom

  • that was fucking cool

  • GREAT video man. It's great to see theinterviews with the Reenactors!

  • I was thinking about attending 2012's reenactment.. for the guns, do you "pretend fire" using blanks? Or is it an airsoft gun type dealio?

  • @lordofthrall The guns at this event are mostly blank guns. Some are completely deactivated and don't shoot anything. But I don't recall seeing any airsoft guns being used the the reenactors.

  • @Sturmgewehre Say i cant really afford to buy a real gun to fire blanks with at the moment, would a fully metal Thompson M1a1 airsoft gun pass, or be "shot down" by the officials?

  • @lordofthrall I honestly can't say what they will accept and what they won't. I suspect it also depends on which group you're applying to. You might want to find a discussion forum dedicated to WWII reenactment and see if they can't help you out. I hope you follow through with your interest, I think it's an amazing hobby.

  • @lordofthrall dude, you would be laughed at, we use real weapons fring blank ammunition

  • @TIMTHOMASROXS It is part of a code that you have to follow ; if an enemy looks at you and shoots at you, you have to pretend to either die or become severly wounded - otherwise basically you die when you feel as if you should die

  • What kind gun is that at 9:11

  • @dukeww2

It's a mock-up of a WWII era anti-tank rifle. I believe it's supposed to be a captured Russian PTRS-41. But it's hard to tell. What I do know is that it's not a real rifle and it was made by the re-enactors themselves.

  • 4:45 I like the fat guy in the background lol XD

  • Very nicely done video! I reenact German infantry and I enjoyed this.

  • As of September 7 2010, all of the tanks from the patton museum are being moved to fort bragg except for a few. The U.S. Army is going back to comebined arms.

  • Very cool. Definitely looks like fun!

  • Very impressive. Thanks for the video.

  • AMAIZING!!!!!

  • 5:00 fat German alert

  • Great video! Thanks for doing this! Nice to see a good accurate and balanced representation of a reenactment.

  • Also, Im at 9:10 taking my rifle off my back and shooting, and at 9:48

  • @dragon3600000

Cool, I'm glad you found the channel and video.

  • @Sturmgewehre

did you get footage of any of the other battles?

  • @dragon3600000

That's all the video I have. I didn't stay around until the big battle took place later that afternoon. We were just there in the morning.

  • @Sturmgewehre

will you be coming to the union illinois event?

  • @dragon3600000

What are the dates for the event? I would like to make any local events I can.

  • @Sturmgewehre

May 28th, 29th, and 30th. Its an interactive event where the germans take over the train your in, you get to watch it get ambushed by partisans, theres an air raid, and a whole lot of fun activities

  • @Sturmgewehre neat. how often do they do reenactments? if they do it more than once a year id say itd be worth the 4 hour drive lol :)

  • I was 353rd Id. i helped with the captured soviet anti tank gun

  • Nice video... but you forgot about we lowly Soviets!

  • @tovarischazaritsa It would have been nice to see some of the Ostfront skirmishes. The Soviet groups at this event, particularly the 95th Rifles, always have a great turn out.

  • @Therewasatime109 yes I am part of the 95th :) We had a HUGE turnout- nearly 30 rifles! Our new medic also got her feet wet, it was a good time!

  • @tovarischazaritsa

Great, glad you found the video. You guys did a great job this year!

  • @Therewasatime109 We actually only did one skirmish on Sunday morning. It turned out alright but it would have been nice to have been able to get a spot on Saturday as well. I think we may have had one, but everything got moved around because of the weather.

  • Osama bin laden in DEAD RALLY THE MESSAGE PRONOUNCED DEAD at 10:47 Eastern P.M!!!

  • This was a really nice large reenactment in the past. In 2008 the HRS reenactors that run this event started turning on people and treating them like outcasts and second class citizens.they were turning away women for wanting to reenact as males, even with their impressions better than most of the men they were standing next to. It was really nice to see that german Tiger tank there. That Tiger is probabally the best thing at that event. Maybe someday the Lake county parks will wake up!

  • @pak715 HRS has undergone a lot of changes but I do understand the need to restrict women in male roles. I've been in US Civil War reenacting as a female soldier myself and personally, not enough women do justice to the role to deserve a place among their male counterparts. Just saying. It is not authentic to have a woman disguised as a man for WW2, though, so if you're a woman wanting to fight, try checking out a Soviet Frontovicha impression.

  • @pak715 The issues with both the T34ger and "turning people away" all comes down to a a decent level of safety & authenticity. I've never witnessed people being "turned away" at events like Lowell or Rockford on any grounds outside of the S&A regs. The HRS has specific but reasonable terms of safety & authenticity and if you can't meet those requirements then you can't participate at our events. It's that simple. I personally feel the presence of the T34ger cheapens the S&A of the event.

  • @Therewasatime109 The T34ger is also an incredible liability to the event and to the hobby over all.

  • @Therewasatime109 ......Well I have to disagree on the grounds of "where the hell is your tank ?" You Illonois pri--s always think your better than everyone else. Keep beatin your drum and remember you are only here in Indiana as OUR guests. Oh and has your commander Terry screwed anyone out of a DP-28 lately ? Bugger off retards.

  • @pak715

I'm neither a resident of Illinois or a member of "Terry's unit", who you obviously have some issues with. One person's statement to another hardly qualifies as grounds for anything, especially as an over all impression of an entire organization. As for referring to someone as mentally handicapped as an insult, is that a Waffen-SS thing or your version of Indiana charm?

  • @pak715 I don't know who you are, who your quarrel over the DP28 is with, but that was entirely inappropriate for you to post such a comment towards the 95th Rifles, and to our CO. I don't know what has happened, who was involved, or anything at all, but I will have you know that your comment is not appreciated. The 95th is a unit of regular people just like any other and what individuals do on their own time does not speak for the rest of us.

  • @TriggrHappy91

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. We had a great time out there soaking up all the history.

  • cool vid thax for bring us along

  • ever heard that: "The difference between boy and man is price of hïs toys"

  • 6:09 - they're talking about medical marijuana in colorado haha you can hear it. awesome video tho brotha!

  • Great vid man! thanks for putting this up!

  • was this saturday? im just wondering bc i was there saturday with the 82nd Airborne 505th PIR.

    thanks!

  • @dannyboy1957380

Yup, this was from Saturday (yesterday). It was a great show, thanks for helping to put it on.

  • Looks like a fun time! Folks, when you're out shopping or running errands and see that older gentleman with the WWII Veteran hat on, remember to say thank you. We are loosing our WWII heroes at an alarming rate.

  • very nice.

  • Good stuff. I especially liked seeing the Panzerbusche. There is at least one WW2 reenactment every summer not far from my home that has a surprisingly large number of Soviets. Lots of interesting small arms and machine guns including Maxims on wheeled mounts.

  • this is very cool i went to an airshow that had a reenactment i took my uncle he was a sniper and a aircraft mechanic in the airforce he was stationed with marines he had a fun time.......can you do another video like this sometime again

  • good stuff

  • Cool gun dude

  • @4:29 not quite that big George! lol the tigers tracks were double the size of a t34s

  • i wanna know who the slimey communiest that hit dislike?

  • Great video sir! I loved the whole video and i learned a thing or two in the process.

  • Excellent video. I'm going to be joining a WW2 group here in TX fairly soon. Gotta put on the Dot 44 and play with MG42s..... Lol!

  • Good video thanks for your time,I enjoy all your videos you have a lot of good info.

  • Another great video, thanks for sharing. I've never been a big fan of the civil war reenactments, but this looks very interesting to me. Might try to make it next year if they do it.

  • Watch out. According to the left, all reenactors are nazi sympathizers. :P (sarcasm)

Really cool stuff. Wish I could afford to get into it.

  • Fantastic event. It must have been fascinating to get up close to look at some of the gear.

  • There's always time for tea... :)

  • @Kampfkauz War Of Independence, WK 1, WK 2, Korea, Vietnam, (Cold War [War ja so gesehn keine richtiger Krieg]), Golfkireg, Irak, Afghanistan. Und das alles in knapp 200 Jahren. Respekt. :D

  • I get a lot of war veterans that walk through my local grocery store, particularly veterans of the Korean and Vietnam war. Completely different wars I know, when compared to WWII, but it's always a lot of fun to listen to what they have to say.

I always had a great passion for learning about the second world war, I frequently pick up magazines pertaining to the history of it, and I would most likely would have had enjoyed being at one of these reenactments.

Great video, keep it up :D

  • great video loved it ! thanks............

  • Excellent video, brother! Thanks for sharing!

  • that's good!

  • Thant awsome. What a day. Lots of cool weapons and people there. Great video guys

  • Thank you for documenting your experience at Lowell. I loved watching every moment of it. I am enamored by WWII and greatly enjoyed seeing this.

Look forward to more of your great work!

  • Great video man, I would have loved to have been there to see that. Very, very cool bro. Thanks.

  • Cool.

The horses at 9:10 are probably thinking "what the hell are these humans doing" hahaha

  • what messenger bag are you using?

  • @bensharmak

It's a "Terrorist Interdiction Bag" (TIB) sold by One Source Tactical.

  • @Sturmgewehre awesome. thanks for the info!

  • Looks like fun but expensive.

  • how come there are american vs german reenactments, but no WW2 reenactments of american vs japanese in the pacific theater? could they just not find any japanese people to play in the reenactment? lol

  • @barnettzack

I saw two Japanese reenactors, but they were both white guys. :)

  • @barnettzack In Lowell there isn't awhole lot of Japanese.

  • @barnettzack

Over here in PA there are some Pacific Theater events. The problem with that is exactly as Sturmgewehre said, - white guys in Jap gear lol. We have one big one over here called Saipan which I take part in. Its a great event but its a private tactical as opposed to a living history/ public reenactment like the one you see here. PA seems to be the mecca for WWII reenacting.

  • @barnettzack I was a participant as a Soviet riflewoman- There was a small section of Pacific Theater but there weren't many reenactors for that section. It all depends on who shows up to portray who.

  • @barnettzack

Reenacting is done on an all volunteer basis, each reenactor buys all their own equipment and pays their own expenses. There simply isn't a large community of Japanese-American who are interested in reenacting the conflict from the IJ perspective. At any large event like Lowell or Rockford, you'll find Japanese-Americans portraying GIs rather than the forces of the Imperial Empire of Japan. There are individuals, usually caucasians, who portray IJ forces at some events though.

  • my papu (thats greek for grandpa) was in ww2 he served in the philipine islands. I always asked him about ww2. all the man would tell me is war is hell, and that was it. Even if he saw some bad things i wish he would have told me more about his experiences. Now those stories are gone forever. :'(

  • fantastic vid

  • shit thats bad ass man nice video

  • Cool.
