I take just normal Fish Oil capsules but I don't know whether I should switch to Krill Oil or not... I started taking fish oil capsules along w/ diet and exercise when my blood test a year ago showed high triglycerides, it got down into control w/ diet/exercise and I'm still taking fish oil capsules... do you recommend switch to Krill oil capsules instead?
Do a google search on eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). That is the omega-3 fatty acid behind all the current research and studies done that show omega-3's are beneficial for all sorts of mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and others.
In order to benefit from supplementing with omega-3's, it has been recommended to take an omega-3 oil or capsule that contains 1000mg EPA and little to no DHA. Like I mentioned above, search Google or PubMed and do your own research.
I 'm trying cod liver oil. I'm puzzled by the recommandations ( Solgar): one cap per day. ( =1250 UI vit.A and 135 UI vit.D) In former times the children were given one spoonfull a day. I feel deceived ,to ingest the corresponding amount, I need 8 more caps .They insist to respect the directions for use. What is the amount you recommand?
I'm very gratefull for all the great ressources you share.

@TheEsotericDesi For all the reasons mentioned, I believe krill is far superior to fish oil as a source of DHA and EPA

Why not recommend golden algae oil ? It's much more concentrated than fish oil (40% DHA) and it's 100% free of contaminent!

@XNinjaSebX FAR more expensive and does not have proper ratio of EPA and DHA

Dr. Mercola, is the krill oil that you recommend mercury-free?
MrsMozart 5 years ago
Krill is so small that mercury contamination is not a problem in any brand.

@MrsMozart sure is
