Just look at the past 2 months. The US Navy is on high alert in the Mediterranean Sea b/c of the protests in Egypt and Libya. They've been helping extensively with the evacuation of people trying to escape the chaos, as well as providing supplies to Libyan rebels.

The fact that the United States and by extension its armed forces are a force for good in the world is indisputable, but to put it in this advertisement is questionable. We shouldn't necessarily be bragging about how good we are and all of the good that we've done in the world since we became the leader of the free world. Sounds more like a Peace Corps slogan, Occasionally the Navy along with the other branches of our armed forces will have to fight wars, which involves things like sinking ships and killing, which most of us consider bad. The call to serve theme is what they should have stuck with, the slogan at the end just ruins it.

@ShingoEX It's a 'global force for good' because 80% of what they do is support. Anything that threatens the safety or health of a large amount of people gets the United States Navy involved. Just look at the past 2 months. The US Navy is on high alert in the Mediterranean Sea b/c of the protests in Egypt and Libya. They've been helping extensively with the evacuation of people trying to escape the chaos, as well as providing supplies to Libyan rebels.

So I answered the call and I am already talking with my recruiter... Taking the ASVAB soon and I plan on becoming a CTI for the US Navy... Although it saddens me that my friends who are joining the Marines and the Army keeps making fun of me and calling me a pussy for joining the Navy.. Shouldn't all branches get along instead of bringing each other down? After all we all serve for the same purpose..
