I adore Family Guy and Bill Maher... BUT, I must say, I personally think that Family Guy took a turn for the worse after around... season 4... Seasons 5-10 are quite good still... But it feels like a VERY different show, and not in a good way... It's strongest point way back in the day was it's weak plot lines with absolutely ridiculous humor... After season 4, it tried to get too deep... and I am sorry, but after season 7 or so, Quagmire became the shittiest character on the show...

@somersetdc I think that is the point most people won´t see. Governing for everyone means that you will eventually bump on someone´s right so you will protect another one´s. Paul´s case is that small government is less likely to do that. It presupposes that people are treated as individuals and not as a couple of different homogeneous groups of people that have similar and necessities.

I think Paul´s take on governing fairly and equitably is better achieved when governing less.

Am I the only one that thinks that because Family Guy has had to be censored, it has made it a better show? If they could get away with profanity and crude descriptions, I don't think that show would have the same feeling of originality. due to the censors, they have had to come up with some very creative ways to express funny things that would normally be censored.

@commanderbige Would be an extremely tough case to judge either way. You could approach it as you had, without boundaries it could have diluted the over all viewer influence. Opposite being, without having to drop entire bits or ideas and to otherwise contort a scene to be cleared, it would be leaps and bounds better. Each plausible but I can certainly see how the writers could seriously play on social flaws without censors filtering much of what is against the grain. What we watch is mild.
