@Augbo, @Klemperer, @CaptainBluebear08 Perhaps the test will come in 65 years from now: will people then still be listening to Lady Gaga (or for that matter) Madonna?
That was perhaps THE VERY BEST performance of that movement I have ever heard. I had known that Klemperer had worked wonders at the Kröll Opera, but this is my first experience of it. Just another indication that the super staccatissimo approach to this music is not the only way to go. One can almost see Balanchine's much later choreography of this piece, which is also pretty miraculous, as one listens. First-rate in every way. Thanks for posting this!
Funny how "Lady GaGa" videos have millions of hits, and Otto Klemperer videos have less than 50,000 each. It shows how perverted and stupid people can be concerning their so-called opinions of music worth hearing.
@Augbo I wouldn't say so, and (you wouldn't know it from my nickname^^) I listen to Klemperer's recordings since I was a kid and my father played the records to me. I met too many posh followers in all areas, be it classical music, jazz, pop, techno, whatever - and in all areas you find a few people who listen with open ears and - well, with love. Preferring him or her means most of the times - nothing.

I love this movement. It has a crystalline quality. like a soft rain.

I love this piece, especially this movement. To me, the textures are cool and crystalline, like falling raindrops. Thanks for posting this.

the quality of this recording is not bad at all. There are parts of this movement where Stravinsky is clearly experimenting with atonality.

I don't know what it is, but I find this movement very amusing.
