  • You guys have totally underused the internet. Remind me what were the other two guys names?

  • Terry, I've been desperately trying to reach you. Are you still together with DoublePlay? Found a music producer. Call me asap at (586) 339-5605. Jackie (Lyons) McLean.

  • Wow...that's just maddening. I used to go to Port Huron in the 70s and 80s alot and I can't believe the major emptiness of it. It's so sad alot of great stores are gone. If I ever visit there now, I'll be in total shock. The last time I set foot in P.H. was in 2007. All this mess started in either 2006 or 2007 and we didn't need that 2nd war or crookiness of the bankers and etc on the houses. Post Office...closed. I can't believe it.

  • It is rather sad. I forget when the Blue Water Bridge was twinned but this footage only shows the original brdge. Some improvements have happened at a snail's pace but money is tight but creativity shall prevail. The blue water is an asset to be held in respect and not sold to the highest bidder. I grew up in Port Huron, my dad worked at Muellar Brass which closed many, many years ago. My high school, Port Huron Catholic was only in existence for 8 years before it had to be sold! MW 1967

  • We can make a change, by becoming united (grassroots) enforcing our officials to be responsible for the decisions they make not only in this town but our president as well. What we don't understand is it is THE RIGHT of the people, for it always has been the people who elected them in their paid positions (by the people) & we can gather meetings on "HOW & ways to enforce them to uphold to make them accountable for their decisions legally!! By doing nothing we show them it's ok, we surrender.

  • Keep electing the evil democrats and this destruction will continue!!!

  • @hetzii

keep electing republicians it will go deeper in hell. >:(

  • @KenshinsSoul the problems happened when the democrats were the majority in the state government

  • To 'DESTROY A TOWN' Just hire Bruce Brown...I left in '68, and returned in '70...what the hell was I thinking? At least I do not 'work here'.

  • Kudos to Mr. Stroh on a great video. It certainly brings back memories of my hometown. Unfortunately, the scenes depicted are all too common in cities across the country now. But I believe PH will come back better than ever. They really need to focus on the water, which is the city's biggest resource for drawing people and dollars in.

  • I fear if this keeps up our town really will become a mini Detroit. Have any of you seen the completely deserted and decrepit areas that are in Detroit these days? So sad that you can buy what should be a $600,000 mansion in Detroit now for a mere $120,000. Port Huron is not far behind.

  • Couldn't help but chuckle at 3:10 into the video when they showed the old Deja Vu building

  • Yoo-hoo! Did you know that the entire country is dealing with a recession? It's not just Port Huron. It's unfortunate that you chose to produce a total downer of a story, which won't help things improve.

When was this produced? Several of the vacant places are now occupied. A couple weren't even vacant in your video (misrepresented).

How about focusing on the jewels in PH, like the Vintage Tavern, Atrium Cafe, Raven, etc? Call the Convention & Visitors Bureau for a clue about what's coming.

  • There are a million small towns going through this. Port Huron will come back much sooner because we have that beautiful River and Lake front and freighters!

There is no place like it! Just kick these bums out of Washington and Lansing and take America back. It belongs to the people - not the politicians. I still love going to Port Huron. There is still plenty there to see and do. It's a great town and I love it!!!!

  • Port Huron will come back...it's just too darn pretty there. Our home town reflects the state of the whole country and will probably last until we get more competitive.

  • My home town ~ thought it was so small when I was growing up. Now I see just how big Port Huron WAS.....so sad it is just a memory. But, I have happy memories, just sad my children/grandchildren will never know the "home town" I knew.

Thanks for the song.....brought a tear to my eye & leaves another memory in my heart!

  • A real eye opener.

  • Wow, Terry, you hit the nail on the head!! I too loved the song and most appropriate and also cried at what has happened to a city I grew up in. It is really sad that only a few of us see what has happened, and most have blinders on and say there is nothing wrong in PH, MI. Some have the nerve to call it progress.

  • Great Job, Terry.....too bad it has to be a sad song. I recognized some of the places. Guess PH should've worried less about the crime possibility and put the Casino in the old Sears store downtown, like the citizens proposed!! Instead we can watch all the traffic and money cross over to Sarnia.....Thanks city founding fathers who seem to only be in favor of their own interests.

  • PoHo...For Rent, For Lease, For Sale or Forclosed.

  • I smiled through my tears. Smiled because it's a beautiful song, cried because it's Reality. Thank you

  • A vivid story-telling video of my/your town and many, many towns across OUR great nation !! THank you, Terry Stroh and company.

WE still have the bluest of the Blue Water !

  • Boy, that is the truth!!

It is so sad to see this great little city die..and sad for my grandchildren.

  • So Sad...I too was raised in Port Huron and recognize many of these places. We have long since left for our future endeavors only to return so shorts visits.

  • I Like it..documents the fall of another small town.
