  • Percussion is realistic and the mellow jazz smooth, it's those pounding middle octaves that only a real Hammond can seem to getcha'! I like the organ considering what it is...what is it? software?

In this world of miniaturization I have revelations from time to time which seem to make practical sense. The one I had recently had something to do with taking the Hammond tone wheel to a larger record like disk that could be 'stamped out' with all of the impressions of the various 'flowered edges'.

  • @paulj0557 Yes, software. This organ is "only" complete B3 deck. Built into complete PC and run the B3 emulation software. Turn on, wait half minute (autorun) and play on organ.

I think the Hamichord is the best choice in the B3 clones market.

  • that is an amazing sound, have hammond heard the hamichord organ & the keyb duo.

  • Kissé gyors ez a Midnight Special, Zsolt, de szuper !!! :)

  • Ez a tempó volt bennem akkor úgylátszik :-)

  • Kissé gyors ez a Midnight Special, Zsolt, de szuper !!! :)

  • Very nice playing!

  • the sound inside is provided by vb3 gsi, 45 euros. have fun

  • All in all, it's pretty decent for a clone. One of the issues I'm having with this B3 clone though is that the vibrato is overly exaggerated especially on the full drawbar tone. Another is that the tone is not as warm or "vintage" sounding. Also, the ramping of the leslie sound is exaggerated. Probably doesn't mean anything to you, but just thought I'd share haha Oh and by the way, PRAISE THE NORD!

  • @tvseal0001, the Hamichord is not a clone. It's strictly a software controller. He's using the (outdated) Native Instruments B4, but if he'd use this controller (that has complete B-3 layout) with the GSI VB-3 you'd see it smashes the Nord & it's 3 sets of ridiculous LED bars. There's a free demo download at genuinesoundware . com that runs via a DAW program. Plus you can use the authentic Leslie simulator for practice with a real Hammond (there's a vid here on youtube that demonstrates this).

  • thats cool...im just more of a "sound in the box" guy...meaning that I dont do the whole software setup. I just like to plug in and play.

  • LOL. I get you 100%. But, for a guy like you Hammichord makes a module that installs into this unit for simple plug & play operation (with the VB-3 sound engine!). Only issue for me is they only sell in Europe... Humbug. If you're a European with the cash... I'd get... then send a finders fee to the guy on youtube who told you about it... i.e., me. lol.

  • @TheMadMusicMan. Spoken like a true genius.

  • Sounds Good.... Close but no Cigar. A real Beemer cannot be duplicated that easily.

    I like your set up....COOL!

  • you really think it sounds like a b3? Good luck.... very thin sounding at best

  • Hamichord/B4/1 is one from many clones on the market. This video only test. If i can't bring my B3/122 8many times i can't or don't want), i use my way clone: tehtube's B3/EMU/MS.

  • Do the midi controler drawbars not work? How come using the mouse was needed?

  • Work, but 3-4 presets are enough, like Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancesco.

This is normally PC in B3 cover and behind founded many USB, PS2, VGA ports, plus 4 midi, Leslie11...

  • Aw I see. Thanks, I wish I could try one of these out for feel. NI B4 sounds pretty close. But I think there is less high end and low end than the real B3.

  • Real B3 is real B3, Hamichord is B3 clone, but excellent clone.

  • @TheMadMusicMan Go with the Nord C1 or C2...best Hammond clone out there. Undisputable

  • I don't tihnk so. They're great, I love them. But I think there are many other clones out there that do a good job for less. I don't quite say they're the best though. The pipe organ is a brilliant inovation though.

  • Hammond clones--There's also one made in Brazil -by Ventura keyboards--Keyboard magazine is doing a big issue next time[Dec]--on clonewheels-------Charlie

  • dear sir,where do I purchase this organ,please reply soon,thanks

  • tis made in italy, look on their homepage

bgmi. it or on google (Hamichord)

  • very good piece!! do you think I can find a cheap midi key that can makes me this awesome sound??

  • Hamichord are XP based PC with good soundcard. Using cheap midi keyboard and B4/1 the sound will same, but the keyboard playing and music absolutely no.

If you use midi keyboard i suggest Italian based keys and no far easter keys. They are a little bit shorter manuals, junk.

  • ah ok. and what is B4/1? what do you mean with keyboard playin and music??

  • Native Instruments B4 - Hammond B3 emulatoin software. No1, No2. also good the VB3 software.

Excellent midi keyboard the Fatar VMK161. Like in Hamichord, Key-B, C1. Or much more cheaper the Roland A33. Also excellent for organ playing, but no organ controllers.

  • mm I see. I would like to buy a cheaper one like behringers..you think I will not make work an organ on that kind of keys?? they got 8 assignable knobs and select button. also it's got a footswitch. it's not enough for a good midi key?

  • what about foot pedal? how can you emulate it?

  • The owner not use midi bass pedal with this instrument. The swell pedal same as origin.

  • i mean a set of pedals two octave wide

  • You know what song has a lot of Hammond in it. Cocaine by Steve Marriott.

  • Awsome dude 5 Stars. One qusetion thought. At :45 after you took all the Vabrato off it was kind of hard to tell but was the leslie on slow or was it stationary?

  • Upper: nonvibrato, Lower: vibc3, leslie effekt slow.

  • I think you can compare it to the KeyB Duo...what du you mean??

  • Better ME this. But i use at home my AB3 or gigs my sampled tehtube's B3.

  • Hi!

As much as know this instruments runs on NI B4 software...I'm using NI B4 and i'm not reaching that sound of yours..Could you please tell me what settings are you using on the upper manual for that rich full sound???(0:16-0:18secs for example).

    Thank you

  • Hi, drawbars are full. Others parameters i don't remember, i adjusted these continuosly. Maybe mellowed sound, fat, warm positions, medium keyclick, light leslie effect depth.

I used this B4 only this time, other situation i use my sampled tehtube's B3 or real B3.

  • ..probably it's all about some of those small adjustments. I'll spent some time reserching: )

    THANKS for your time

  • Mostmár élőben kellene meghallgatni, mert ez nagyon meggyőző, köszi Tehtube, köszi Misi

    ozjo

  • Is this being played with a leslie simulator?

And do you need to run a computer with it, or is everything inside the instrument?

Is it better than the nord c1?

  • Yes, leslie simulator on the small hifi amp/speakers. Not instrument amp. Everything inside in the instrument. Much more better me than C1.

  • You wrote B41 is that a mistake and should be B4II? Typo or is it the original B4(1)? The HC can come with the B4II but not the B41.

  • Whoops! sorry I just read it again. Why would you use the B41 instead of B4II?

  • Yes, can come with B4/2.

But running B4 - 1 software here. The organ owner better like these sound and changed. He use therefore in Hamichord B4/1 with special midi converter softvare (maybe midiox?) for B4/1 plus reverb vst.

  • Teljesen B3 érzet... :) Nagyszerű hangszer, Misi! (és természetesen nagyon jó demonstráció, tehtube!

  • szép!

  • "najonjó!" :) jó demo, jó hangszer!
