There are no words for how good the heli physics were in DC...

Both helis and planes actually had momentum and inertia apply to them, realistic amounts of thrust and the good ol' literal deadzone where if you tilt over more than 45 degrees you are in for a serious tumble (just like a real heli)

Desert Combat will always be the best mod for ANY game I have ever played. The amount of hours I invested in this game will always be with me for life, Basrah Nights ftw!! Its a shame DICE hired the people who made this mod (Trauma Studios) and then sacked them shortly after releasing BF2. Although I hear the former head of Trauma Studios before they ceased to exist now has his own game studio called Kaos Studios. I might reinstall this game to see if anyone still plays it.

After it starts battlefield 1942 it will show servers for both games. Just start 1942 then look for DC servers on the server list.
