OMG I saw this years ago on PBS at some ungodly hour lol, I loved it from the get go. Spent many tears looking for it...but never who did it or what it was even called. Whatever happened to the woman who directed it? Its like she virtually disappeared. This also aired with another weird yet amazing short. Don't remember the name but the short they aired with this...there was a stewardess who said "stop and smell the surgical flowers". THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PUTTING THIS UP! You made my day lol!

I wonder if this is some kind of remake of a very old film from 1915, 'The Little Boy Who Once Was He'.....hmmmmm - there is a similarity - if you check out IMDB.com and compare 'He Was Once' and this other film you can see the cast of characters is quite similar....ANY feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!!. I don't know how hard this is to find, but I purchased the DVD by Todd Haynes, 'Dottie Gets Spanked' and the bonus on the disc is 'He Was Once' in its entirety!!! YEAHHHHHH!!!

Ha! This is truly weird & bizarre...but yet oh so strangely compelling! Had no idea it would result in a belt spanking for poor Davey! That's gotta smart! Strictly from owsville, daddy-o! Most American kids grew up watching the original "Davey & Goliath"...I read recently that the Lutheran ministry who produced it would make it available free to local TV stations...as a result it has been shown quite frequently over the years in almost every American city. I saw it (most of it) years ago on channel 13 in New York and looked for it for years, trying to describe it to people. Entering things like "Davey and Goliath Parody" in search engines never helped. Finally I got the idea to look for old TV schedules and finally actually figured out the name of it. IMDBed it and ended up buying the Dottie Gets Spanked DVD just to see it again. If only I new I could see it for free on Youtube. "Turn your ear back, Davey!"
