ok ok. I am a down south native, ft. smith, arkansas. Midland heights blood, but i am a devoted student of the golden era. I remember being ten years old and having gurus jazzmatazz. But, that being said, although gza is a legend (def in my favorite top ten, maybe five. the south has some of the greatest emcees hip hop has ever witnessed, in outkast (andre 3000 is to me #3 behind B.I.G. and Hov at #1), Scarface, UGK, Cee lo and 8 ball and MJG. No one loves the gza more than i do man.

Every Verse and line has a purpose. Nothing against freestyle though...but what kind of well thought out message do you here during most freestyle raps?? I think what GZA is sayin is that a freestyler isn't gonna be nearly as in depth as a well thought out rhyme. Which is true, but at the same time, freestyles are a way to build up your verbal dexterity. It's a way to develop your style. I think if you take away freestyles you take away a pure form of hip hop, for those that don't have the money or equipment to lay a verse down, a freestyle is the next best thing.

That's the worst response you could have said. I know because I've seen him freestyle over 20 times and every time it was original. I'm not saying Gza isn't good, I'm saying he's wrong about freestyling, and probably hates it just because he can't do it.
