  • Radio 1 Evening Session flashback. Whoa!

  • This Song reminds me to my old club in the south of Germany, and all the fucked up nights, when this song was played. A club where´s anyone got wasted, drunk, and the walls are full with the stuff, you just have drunk before. Oh Guys! I´m telling, this was a great time "Hach ja." ;) I love this Song! (Sorry when my English is creepy!) xD

  • these guys grew up just a few kilometers from my place(not a lie)but its hard to believe with such great sounds like that, here in belgium, critics break the band down, but i like to see em do any better.....i think there is never gonna be ANY band that wil make music sounds like that, that music is what Bob Marley once said THE SWEET SOUNDS OF FREEDOM

  • Celebrating the birth of my Son with that song on Repeat Track. And fuck yeah, this is friday!

  • Is it Klaas Janszoons holding Tom Barman's hand? Looking totally different nowadays..

  • @Mufac I think it s stef kamil

  • so young :)

  • This is the first song I've heard from the band, or first heard of this band at all.

That being said, there's some ideas in this song which I think are pretty cool, like the violin at the start, awesome. Then the guitar solo starting at 2:42, making this song feel not so 90s alternative, and while I'm admittedly biased towards many songs with lyrics, at least the rhythm between the main lines and the chorus (Friday?), engages some interest. So yeah, points to Deus. I'll listen to more.

  • @RossIrving With all due respect Ross, I do believe that that solo is a keyboard solo. That being said, I agree with everything else you said. Is it Friday? or Fried egg? lol

  • @Toberoni It's friday!

  • What, no youknowwhobiebercomment? Belgians do really have a great musical influence!

  • Damn, did the Belgians kick musical ass in 90's or what?!. As a Dutch schoolboy, I loved this song. The energy of it is still unparalleled in present day imho

  • Crazy magic sound from Belgian's finest band

  • One of the numbers in my personal top 10 :)

  • so sad i'm not belgian

  • @skateAndtag4life :: So am i :)

  • proud to be a belgian :)

  • @skateAndtag4life

I'm Brazilian, but I will give you a "thumbs up"... :)

I really like some Belgian bands! Hope I can visit your beautiful country someday!

  • @odontologiba to be honest the only beautiful things we got here is the city bruges and ghent or antwerp, if you like middle ages architecture. Your country is way more beautiful i'm glad belgian bands get appreciated all around the world. regards, viktor

  • @skateAndtag4life Well, I agree with you if you're talking about natural beauty... beaches, mountains, the rain forest... But, you got a lot of history. I would like to see the ancient buildings, and learn more about your culture. Regards, Gilberto

  • @skateAndtag4life please get to know your own country lol... go to skyscrapercity and check out some picture threads on belgium, lots of natural and architectural beauty here... but you have to stray off the beaten path, something no one ever does, not even the natives.

  • with people like you (no offense) always underestimating and speaking negatively about their own country it's no wonder a lot of people here grow up with an insecurity complex, i'm just saying.

  • @superZalm

I'm just not a fan of belgium, even though I live here.. I would much rather live in an other country to be honest.

  • @skateAndtag4life that's to be expected when you hardly know anything about your own country.. but whatever, you're not an exception :) personally, i love it here, and i've lived in germany, luxembourg and spend half the year in canada. life there is no better or worse. maar ik begrijp je wel hoor, je bent een typische belg :)

  • @superZalm

Hoe is canada?

  • @skateAndtag4life lived in mons for 3 years... belgain people are truly awesome... have fun dude..i am scotish,,i love you guys.... x

  • @funkyfunker

you guys have a great accent! I love you guys too! :D and thanks I'll tell my fellow belgians here in the house hehe.

  • @skateAndtag4life cheers bud xxx

  • @mtpeters33

    its FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY xD

  • Love it!!!

    Great 90s!!!

Check this band out: "PLAN DE FUGA", you may possibly like it.

    Medal of honor to dEUS!!

  • This song made them famous, they are unique. I stood at the back at Manchester when they toured with Placebo and Tom stood next to me smokin a fag taking in the vibe, I loved the guy so much that I didn't speak to him (give him space to chill).

  • Belgian pride. Bitch

  • i dont like dEUS but this is the best belgian song ever made. just saying.

  • @SeeMysteryLights Youdon't like creativity?

  • @sufjan1970 i just dont like the other songs from dEUS.. but this one is epic

  • @SeeMysteryLights Have you ever listened to the album In a bar under the sea?

  • @SeeMysteryLights One of the best .. there are a lot of good belgian songs !!!

  • @foospuppet yeaa i guess, but this is definitely the best, in my opinion!

  • FRIDAY!!!

  • I'm in loveeeeeeeee.

  • Actually theres 7. Zaak.

  • Just enjoy it. Theres only eight notes you know , not including the semitones. Who cares what category it goes in at the record store.

    It's HipHop.

  • the fuck is wrong with people? They don't have this on Itunes!

  • @l3d57 yes they do, search for worst case scenario on itunes, it's one of the songs of that album

  • is that the smoke alarm?

  • JUST WANNA SHOUT!

  • i'm gonna see them live tomorrow! can't fuckin wait

  • if you like this band also check out the pornografitti album by Extreme!

  • @PROXIMO79 , I like people proposing , and I followed your proposal friend and checked them just now, but well... they are def leppard or something. American rock is nice, but what the heck it has to do with Deus?

  • Tommeke toch, dit is voor mij de beste rocksong uit de belgische rockgeschiedenis!!

Hell yeah, iedere keer zit ik gewoon te headbangen, ik vind het schit-ter-rend!!!!!

  • just remembering seeing thin video in mtv in 1995 - the shocking feeling stays till today - dEUS seems to be my lifetime-drug

  • dEUS' best song ever! Love it!

  • Maybe it's just me, but i always thought this song sounds Beck-ish. Never really thought of dEUS (or Beck for that matter) as grunge.

  • that's what we call history!!!!great,fantastic!!!!!!

  • @superZalm I didn't really mean it negatively, its that they sound British/American in their approach, I've spent alot of time in Belgium as its much more easy going than France and have found the Belgians anything but boring, miserable, dumb, maybe its something they have a problem with?

  • @maclennan73 We all find ourselves boring, miserable and dumb so we expect the rest of the world to think the same. But what's up with countries? It's just a political thing, and the arts go beyond politics. There is no "belgian" music, just like there is no "belgian" culture. We have no traditions, no religion, no government, not even our own language. It's so amazing anything good ever comes from this place, we are amazed ourselves :D

  • @Hanske90 When are these ridiculously insecure comments going to stop? And please, there is plenty of culture, traditions, etc here... That you don't know any says more about you than about this country. About the language: both the Dutch and the French language have part of their roots here... You do know that the cultures that make up this country each have their own histories going back a 1000 years, no?

You are making a fool of yourself, which is fine, but don't speak for all of us. Merci.

  • love the song

    love the grungy music video

    fuckin awesome band

ma 2 keer op pkp was der toch ewa over :p

  • Sometimes WTF just doesn't do justice. I BLOODY LOVE THIS!!!

We don't know the Antwerpian mind... XD

    Niks tegen Antwerpen oor

  • Best rock song in Belgian history

  • I first heard it last night while watching Beavis and Butt-Head. Great song,

  • Fantastic song

  • I met Tom Barman in April 2007 in a bar in Bairro Alto, Portugal. I was with my boyfriend when Tom came in. I instantly recognized him and told my boyfriend to go talk to him... I was shy. He went, Tom was very nice, went to our table, talked a lot, payed us drinks, so cool! :) We took pictures! For a fan like us it was just like a dream!

  • and it NEVER get's old ^^

  • there's always something in the air sometimes!

  • I discovered them from this song too..First time I heard it I was in the bus and I kinda started headbanging and dancing so everyone was staring at me :p

  • ok ok ok

  • Deus are great. I lived in Belgium for 4 years and they are HUGE. They should be bigger everywhere else.

  • nice dude where did you live ?

    oost-vlaandren (;!

    grtz

  • @jaws8588 scottish, in the US now, but still listen to Deus and Spinvis.

  • what is this guy saying? friday friday friday!

  • this song was the reason I discovered dEUS

    and they're still brilliant

  • belgium!!!

  • I meant it in a good way, also. One of my favorite videos.

  • They act so....foreign. And bizarre.

  • @sweetttina666, well.

Seeing as they are BELGIAN, yes.

They do act foreign and bizarre. Nice observation.

  • @sweetttina666 well, they're an alternative band, maybe even a bit artsy fartsy (but in a good way!)

  • THis is a band that after the great promise of every disk they put out - I got to see them live . hard to beleive i know , it was even better than the disks.

This is ROCK! pure and simple.

  • i have every cd they banged out right from the start, one of the best bands out there, vival a belgium!!!

  • AnubisEvalyna

bang on dude, you got it in one

  • deus repeteerd dicht bij mij , mn 1 band waar ik van hield ☺♫☼

  • go Antwerp!

  • Guys stop comparing dEUS with grunge.

dEUS make songs in every kind of music genre.

They are not so stupid like other bands that only produce the same soubd over and again.

And they are real music lovers so they listen to all kinds.

I suggest you all do the same, music is wisdom and an enrichment of the soul.

No matter what style it is, it has to be made with real feelings and not to make money.

  • I COULD NOT have said it any better!

  • @AnubisEvalyna amen brother!

Im love Deus and Grunge in their both unique way :D

  • art rock..ish but yes well said

  • @AnubisEvalyna absolutely, they were so inspired that they were impossible to pigeonhole, they personaly had more in common with Pavement or Grandaddy than the grunge types. The thing is- they were hugely creative, and somehow from Belgium, go figure.

  • @AnubisEvalyna

absolutely right. but you got to admit this looks like a crossing between nu metal and grunge... and a little bit of indie rock influences from Pavement or Pixies.

    Right or wrong?

  • @Johnnypt13

Yeah, but I kinda see it like this.

Music is like colors. All the colors have been used allready.

What I mean by that is that songs are like paintings, actually they all look alike but they are painted in a different way and they evolve because the artists learn from eachother.

I said don't compare dEUS with another group because all their songs are completely different.

It's like they make Picasso paintings as wel as Rubbens or Da Vinci paintings. ;)

  • @AnubisEvalyna

"No mattet what style it is, it has to be made with real feelings and not with money"

that is like so true, i allways think about the BlackEyedPeas with it, they used to make songs with feelings, look at 'Where's the Love?' , but now its al about money

  • @AnubisEvalyna

Waaaw, you are way into dweep kingdom, aren't you.

Oh and btw, it's a progressive rockband, they make progressive rock. Most of their songs could be catogerised as at least a form of rock.

But if you wanna be all elitist and shit, be my fucking guest.

    moron.

  • @klootzakisme

Thank you for the comment retard.

  • @AnubisEvalyna

    No problem.

  • @klootzakisme

I know most people want to put everything in boxes and catagorise things.

But that's the biggest problem with mankind.

    It limits our growt.

For example Metallica, they lost a huge amount of fans when they tried something new with Load and ReLoad. All of the sudden they didn't like Metallica anymore.

Metallica can't make the music they like, they have to make what most of their fans want to hear, cause people act like retarted kids and it has to fit their image and ego!

  • @klootzakisme

    I'm not like that.

I want to listen to Black Metal and DubStep and Classical Music and Rock 'n' Roll and Jazz and so on and so on.

I'm not afraid to loose face, cause I'm not a rocker or a raver, I'm myself.

And I want to enjoy all music the world has to offer.

Except the crap that's made just to sell.

A true music fan will let artists create their own work.

A true musician shouldn't be pushed to make whatever the narrow minded public askes for.

  • @AnubisEvalyna

Oh ffs cut the crap. You're implying you're a pretty fucking awesome human being while being the most arrogant fuck I've come across in a long time. You're talking about yourself the whole time like you are the main ingredient of the music you like. Take you're narcissistic bullocks and shove it, music lover.

In the meanwhile I'll call the music I like by its proper name and I'll associate myself with other fans of the genre, it produces an atmosphere no artist can create.

  • @AnubisEvalyna Elitair doen is so 90s.

  • @Synthiotics

    YAY 90's !

  • @AnubisEvalyna Fuck you

  • @AnubisEvalyna its rare to open a youtube video and see such a good comment. people should'nt worry about labels imposed but listen to good music be it what it is. best artists arround are what everyone tries to call experimental or alternative because they dont stick to a pre designed standard of writting music. what i've found is that almost any genre of music( exception of some really bad ones) has good music that will please the educated listener. dEUS is one of them

  • @AnubisEvalyna fun fact: bands and musicians who say its all about the music tend to wash up in a gutter somewhere. Of course it has to have some money in there somewhere. if all the bands today said they are gunna get rid of all the money they make, they'll be poor, they'd have no money to buy veues for the night, they wouldnt be able to afford repairs!!

  • @budbuddingdingMUSE

Offcourse, but that wasn't my point.

I was bashing on all those fake stars you see all day on tv these days.

It's all about marketting and looks. Sell, sell, sell, and I don't mean cd's I'm talking about all the other crap they sell and the tv commercials, etc....

Especially the one who use computers to manipulate their voices to make them sing in key.

  • One of the most interesting bands ever! Their songwriting is absolutely fasinating. Somehow you always seem to know how a song will go on, but then they play something completely different than expected - and it's much better than what you thought! They're gods (aka deus)!

  • @Nostradamus12004

That's what we call mainstream music lol, expand your taste of music

  • Wall of sound......no matter who builds it.

  • never heard of but with 91k views, looks like I am missing out on some good sounds. will check into these guys indeed.
