Andy tnx for answer. I was asking that question because it seems that the power meter is going full scale while you're talking into the mic ! I never had this behaviour when speaking into my MD-100 microphone connected in the front connector of my FT-2000. So it seems that the FT-950 is more punchy... maybe I have also to consider using the rear mic input ! 73 and best regards. Eric.
Dear Andy... When you took the microphone and drop your callsign on the airwaves, the digital meter shows full scale while you are talking... What is the parameter set for this meter ? ALC or POWER ? I have an FT-2000 with an analog needle meter and I wonder if a bargraph system is not ideal to set properly the ALC, just wondering. Thanks for sharing vids on this nice radio ! 73, Eric de ON6CV.
Hi Eric, sorry for not replying sooner. The top scale is power. the lower one is ALC. Note, I was not using a stock microphone into the front end of the FT-950. I was using some Behringer Audio kit into the rear of the rig. Increased talk power no end.
