Bullies are social, friendly and great family dogs if trained right and put in the right situation I would never trust one of your dogs around small children or strangers if this is the type of temperament and behavior you encourage. @candygirl050792 All pups chew, at that age, it's really important for you to tell her "No" in a firm tone and re direct the biting to a chew toy or a bone so she knows chewing/biting is not ok unless it's one of her toys. She's teething and her gums are probably sore so try getting her some good teething toys, Also 6 weeks is a bit young for her to be away from her mom as this is the time they are usually bonding with litter mates and learning the proper way to act
these people don't know what they are talking about 95-115 pounds is perfect size for a male American bulldog, if you find a bigger one it is probably a show dog on roids. these dogs are beautiful and healthy.
Just watchng these AB's play with their ropes, jumping, catching and hanging on like its nothing, makes me miss my AB. Out of all the dogs I've had the AB was the best by far. they're easy to train, smart, and very very loving and loyal. If they dont know you they'll growl and not let you touch them. But once they get to know you a little better they become gentle giants.

I hate seeing overweight looking American Bulldog's though everyone thinks biggest is best when that's not true at all! @dcelis96 All bulldogs and pits alike can heat up in hot weather. For American Bulldogs, the shorter the muzzle the less they can deal with the heat. The big Johnson types don't do good in hot weather. My boy's muzzles are longer because they are of the performance type. I'm in So. California and they do good in the heat. I just don't let them do too much activity when it's really hot or if they do heat up I just hose them down. Make sure they have plenty of water.

I love these, my bulldog Charlie is alot smaller (shes just 54 pounds) but she is pretty strong. I love ABs they are the best dogs, so loyal and playful. I couldn't imagine having any other dog.

@08EB08 They look like Scotts lines.The muzzles are longer and body leaner on scott type and shorter faces and more stocky/muscled on Johnson lines.The leaner look and longer faces makes me think they are Scott line dogs.....and VERY nice looking dogs too!

@whitediesel266 My boyz do good in the heat! They are performance bulldogs so have longer muzzles than the big Johnson type. American bulldogs are not like pits in that they are more suspicious towards strangers than a lot of pits. I think they make very good watchdogs but you have to find the right breeder or you'll get an American Bulldog that only works in the show ring... Just look for breeders that have dogs out there working!

Couple of very good looking dogs you have. Great video, good training, you are always close by in case you need to make a correction quickly. Hope to have a dog as well mannered as your's soon. By two herding dogs are to old to make much progress now, but are still well mannered.

I was a K9 handler in the Army, and those dogs are MEAN due to poor training and constant training to be aggressive with little to no human contact unless it's bite work or directly with the handler! if you want to go hate on someone for "mistreating" dogs, go talk to your local K9 Police Department and see THEIR training! We are also going to get our German Shepherd/ Chow Mix involved too. Tank (our Shepherd/Chow mix) won't be as strong at the pulling as Jarhead will be, but Tank can SURE HOLD ONTO A burlap sack! LOL!

If you LOOK, the dogs only go after the decoy "Bite Burlap Wrapped arm". These dogs are amazing at their bite work and it's pretty ignorant for people to think that they are viscous just because they bite. They BITE correctly and from what I see, they show NO aggression towards the human decoy once the aide has been released

@puni001 Springpole has been around for a very long time. Bulldogs love to bite pull and some, like mine, love to hang and swing on it too. It also helps to keep them in shape. The other clips in the vid show them training for the sport Schutzhund and mondeoring.

@suez695 You cannot make such judgments based on one video. I do obedience training, sent training and a host of other things with them. This is just one clip of some of their activities. They love being high on the spring pole. When it's low they still jump up and then there's the risk of them breaking teeth on the metal springs. That's how they play and not all bulldogs play the same way on one. My dogs heel very well they have to for competition. They are not reckless animals.
@suez695 They only wear a harness when doing bite work (Schutzhund training) because they have to be vocal in the bark and hold. The vet has no problem with their weight because they are very active. They each one is feed four whole chicken leg quarters and 4 to six ounces of beef/steak with some veggies, fish oil, cap of vegetable oil every day and organ meat every other day.

yo I got a american bully he's 8 months old and is 24.5 inches from the shoulder blades to the ground and weighs 105lbs, so he is a big boy but he is very timid and scared. Is there any way to get him to be more confident, and stop acting so scary. I don't know if the previous owner ever hit him but I don't and if I even touch him when he's not looking he jumps.

Take your dog everywhere. Get him use to being around people of all sizes and color by training in public places. But don't let strangers pet your dog. He should see people as just moving trees. Get him use to all types of terrain and reward him for investigating things he's unsure of...

I am starting his obedience training (I have him trained now but I want to make sure everything is good before I start bite training). I was wondering is it to late to improve his prey drive. I got him when he was four months and the people I got him from kept him in a cage outside as soon as he came off his the tit. @HeyBoobe Obedience is a must but shouldn't be boring or strick. You have to make it fun. Also I wouldn't push heavy obedience until a dog is a least 6mo. Young dogs have short attention spans and you can ruin a good attitude by pushing obedience on a young dog. You cannot create drive, only enhance it. Play a lot of tug of war. That really is the bases for all bite and obedience training.
@HeyBoobe Play tug of war with him and let him win often! Build his confidence, but don't push too hard he's still just a puppy. Other than that... Just love him and reassure him and he will grow out of it.

@dcelis96 All bulldogs and pits alike can heat up in hot weather. For American Bulldogs, the shorter the muzzle the less they can deal with the heat. The big Johnson types don't do good in hot weather. My boy's muzzles are longer because they are of the performance type. I'm in So. California and they do good in the heat. I just don't let them do too much activity when it's really hot or if they do heat up I just hose them down. Make sure they have plenty of water.

I love these, my bulldog Charlie is alot smaller (shes just 54 pounds) but she is pretty strong. I love ABs they are the best dogs, so loyal and playful. I couldn't imagine having any other dog.

@08EB08 They look like Scotts lines.The muzzles are longer and body leaner on scott type and shorter faces and more stocky/muscled on Johnson lines.The leaner look and longer faces makes me think they are Scott line dogs.....and VERY nice looking dogs too!

@whitediesel266 My boyz do good in the heat! They are performance bulldogs so have longer muzzles than the big Johnson type. American bulldogs are not like pits in that they are more suspicious towards strangers than a lot of pits. I think they make very good watchdogs but you have to find the right breeder or you'll get an American Bulldog that only works in the show ring... Just look for breeders that have dogs out there working!

Couple of very good looking dogs you have. Great video, good training, you are always close by in case you need to make a correction quickly. Hope to have a dog as well mannered as your's soon. By two herding dogs are to old to make much progress now, but are still well mannered.

People are just ignorant and see what they WANT to see! If you want to see some AGGRESSIVE dogs, you should look at some police dog work! I was a K9 handler in the Army, and those dogs are MEAN due to poor training and constant training to be aggressive with little to no human contact unless it's bite work or directly with the handler! if you want to go hate on someone for "mistreating" dogs, go talk to your local K9 Police Department and see THEIR training! They HIT their dogs!

We are also going to get our German Shepherd/ Chow Mix involved too. Tank (our Shepherd/Chow mix) won't be as strong at the pulling as Jarhead will be, but Tank can SURE HOLD ONTO A burlap sack! LOL!

He just heard somewhere that police train their dogs to be aggressive so they could abuse people and ran with it when its completely false. Theyre the nicest dogs ever when not working.

I would understand that not all k9 training is the same. Some is abusive and some aren't. You can't hide the fact that your training is not the same as his and so forth.

In North Carolina there was a K9 program that was ended because of training dogs by shocking, kicking, and suspension of dogs... Your training probably is great, but don't assume all LE training programs are wonderful like yours.

Actually if ANYONE knows ANYTHING about working BITE WORK with dogs (whether it's with Shepherds, Malenwa's, Pits, or Bulldogs, these guy are PROPERLY training their dogs!
If you LOOK, the dogs only go after the decoy "Bite Burlap Wrapped arm". These dogs are amazing at their bite work and it's pretty ignorant for people to think that they are viscous just because they bite. They BITE correctly and from what I see, they show NO aggression towards the human decoy once the aide has been released

@puni001 Springpole has been around for a very long time. Bulldogs love to bite pull and some, like mine, love to hang and swing on it too. It also helps to keep them in shape. The other clips in the vid show them training for the sport Schutzhund and mondeoring.

@ds10027 what your doing to you boyz may make their jaws strong but it is not good for their necks,i have got a ab i know what the breed is about and how powerful and strong they are,mine is a very well trained companion not a "look at me coz i am hard",you cant even train them to walk with only a collar and lead you have to use a harness,which buy the way makes them pull more,twat,proper expert on the breed,i do not think so,buy the way they need some more fat on them,oh sort it out

@suez695 You cannot make such judgments based on one video. I do obedience training, sent training and a host of other things with them. This is just one clip of some of their activities. They love being high on the spring pole. When it's low they still jump up and then there's the risk of them breaking teeth on the metal springs. That's how they play and not all bulldogs play the same way on one. My dogs heel very well they have to for competition. They are not reckless animals.

@suez695 They only wear a harness when doing bite work (Schutzhund training) because they have to be vocal in the bark and hold. The vet has no problem with their weight because they are very active. They each one is feed four whole chicken leg quarters and 4 to six ounces of beef/steak with some veggies, fish oil, cap of vegetable oil every day and organ meat every other day.

Someone needs to make a good informational video for american bulldogs. They may not have been proven to be the Original bulldog but they have the size, looks, aggression, power, speed, and agility. yo I got a american bully he's 8 months old and is 24.5 inches from the shoulder blades to the ground and weighs 105lbs, so he is a big boy but he is very timid and scared. Is there any way to get him to be more confident, and stop acting so scary. I don't know if the previous owner ever hit him but I don't and if I even touch him when he's not looking he jumps.

@HeyBoobe American bully or American Bulldog? They're very different... But I can tell you that it takes two years for an American Bulldog to mature. 8 months is still a young age. Take your dog everywhere. Get him use to being around people of all sizes and color by training in public places. But don't let strangers pet your dog. He should see people as just moving trees. Get him use to all types of terrain and reward him for investigating things he's unsure of...

I am starting his obedience training (I have him trained now but I want to make sure everything is good before I start bite training). I was wondering is it to late to improve his prey drive. I got him when he was four months and the people I got him from kept him in a cage outside as soon as he came off his the tit. His prey drive was suppressed how can I get him to work like Toro(he is amazing)thanx

@HeyBoobe Obedience is a must but shouldn't be boring or strick. You have to make it fun. Also I wouldn't push heavy obedience until a dog is a least 6mo. Young dogs have short attention spans and you can ruin a good attitude by pushing obedience on a young dog. You cannot create drive, only enhance it. Play a lot of tug of war. That really is the bases for all bite and obedience training.
