I hate yoga. It seems so unnatural.
Happiness, eh? But how do you calculate happiness. Is it the happiness of present moment. So, we will with held happiness of the present in order for greater happiness of the future. But what is the ratio? I don't believe in the monolithic happiness.
Yoga is extremely natural, being, as it is, based upon a truly astounding understanding of the workings of the human body and mind. Yoga is quite simply the most advanced, sophisticated, effective & complete system for physical, emotional and spiritual well-being and development ever devised.
thankyou Peter for offering these free teaching vidoes. I particularly resonate with the 'gaps' in the neuro trasmitters Our emotional patterns and habitual ways of thinking come from the body mind.. through the flow of our energy. Just think of someone continually angry, sad, or mean and they actually morph into that quality,... on the other hand happiness and an open accepting features are those that eminate love and compassion. I loved these teachings! Namaste Rosalyn
It is kind of funny, because I love yoga (sivananda yoga though), and I have followed those principles is this kind of yoga all my life, even if I had never heard of Rasa yoga before. AND MY NAME IS RASA :D
What if we could organize one day where millions of people simultaneously stop what they're doing, sit quietly, and dream of love. We could all meditate on the unconditional love from our mother and radiate pure compassion, thinking of selfless acts of kindness, sacrifice of material possesions to ease the suffering of others, the warmth of the sun and the miracle of just a single flower. What would happen if the whole world could just stopo for a few moments and do this?
I am fascinated with the philosophy I have learned from Buddhist teachings combined with the physical manifestaion of peace I can achieve by simply thinking about nothing but breathing! I love this stuff! When I learned to stop externalizing "God", I felt connected to the whole universe. We are all one giant, confused organizm full of both love and hate...the duality of nature I suppose. Just remeber that you, yourself, as much as anybody in the universe, deserve your love and affection!
I don't get that you don't get it. He is 'communicating' an inner understanding of Choosing happy..and why we do so. Elementary dear Watson! We all use words to communicate-well some of use can understand them.
i actually don't get it. i was thinking about this for many many years now, probably 15. and i came up with what i said: i don't get it. there's a guy sitting infront of other people, sitting, talking. like in school. makes no sense.
Hi Ritter99. What you say is very true. The only teaching of yoga is :"Drop whatever you think you're involved with and you will be more happy than you can ever imagine". Takes 15 seconds at most... Only when people go "What? Why? How? Who? Now?" 15 years or 15 lifetimes may be spend in "school". There is only one way to "get it", but mostly people first need to explore every single one of a million ways of "not getting it". Ram Ram, Peter.
Unhappiness is holding onto to.Holding on to the past,or something in the present you cannot have.If life does not give it to you, then you cannot have it,and most people cannot accept that.Let go you expectation and judgments about you situation, and there go no more unhappiness.Seeking happiness only leads to delusion.
Yes that is true, I agree, determine to be happy and you are halfway there. Accept yourself as you are right now in this very moment even if you want to change a few things because the universe is as it should be, from there you can have the intention to change something but dont attach yourself to the result. Dont try to manipulate the stream, Just flow and life will give all that you seek. Your treasure is closer than your own breath. *Beingness*
The nature of Pure Being, simple, Oneness. Happiness is kind of shallow compared to the vastness of pure silence, there is peace in the moment, embrace yourself without the mind, and live presently. Non-dualism.
The happiness that is attached to what is happening, is shallow indeed. The happiness that stays whatever happens is the basic expression of the inner peace of our Being in the energyfield that travels with it. That is the happiness that I teach and there are many paths to reach it.
Embracing the inner peaceful being is a very direct path, but few are ready take it. Learning to discard unhappiness in a step by step process works for many, as they receive the direct reward of increased happiness through the practice. Purifying kundalini energy and piercing the chakras is another path. Surrendering in love for the ultimate divine consciousness yet another. To see the unity in all these diverse paths also is an excercise in non-dualism.
..from my personal experiences, Meditation is the highest form of Yoga. While Pranayama part of it deals with the Physical well being, meditation itself does teh samething on Mental level. The result is enlightenment.
The main thing is to stay close to the teachings, apply them, excercise yourself, change yourself. Unless you are located in Belgium, I cant be of much direct use. Still, maybe you can tell me where you are and then maybe I might know somebody that might help you help yourself.
Sorry, I know nobody of such value in Mexico. Until you find a teacher, you will have to be your own student & teacher. The self is often called the inner teacher and the guru the outer teacher. The self pulls the mind from within, while the guru pushes the mind from without, toward the self. Though your search for spiritual truth is always valuable, a true guru is not found by seeking; when you are ready, the outer guru will seek you. Meanwhile, it won't hurt to subscribe to my videos ...
allright, thank you, i really appreciate your replies, its a litle bit disappointing that here in Mexico there are no many people that are interested the way i do about yoga philosophy.
Sure, it is very difficult to follow the yogic path when surrounded by people that have no idea nor interest about it. Yet, doing the most difficult kind of yoga also brings the highest benefits.
Peter you're my guru :)

Indeed, essentially there is no goal. Now, This is it! But I guess you have to have that 'inner' 'fire'.

Abraham Lincoln said "People are just about as happy as they make their minds up to be." He had much loss in his life, but he made himself positive.
