her speech is good.she knows her history.most hmoob young teen and young adults don't even know their own history, and how to read and write in their language. The word hmoob is not a thing but a life source. We are hmoob. We should not bad mouth one another just because he/she is better. If you want to prove urself worthy of sumtin or show your skills then step forth. In hmoob community its not easy to achieve the goals we want, it takes time and patient to get thea.

I don't know any of the contestants....so coming from a neutral stance....I would think all the contestants should try to impress the judges, come up with whatever ideas, be it proverbs, gimmicks, what not....Go for it.....No one is stopping any of the contestants from doing the same. So in her efforts to stand out, I do not feel that she needs to be brought down by all these rude comments. All I see is envy and hate because she simply did a good job. If one envies her, come up with better.

Her speech was very organized like a well developed essay. She started off with a great introduction briefly talking about the history of a Hmong heroine. She then, provided analyses and facts about herself. And concluded with a nice ending. Congrats to her!
she won't do jack for the community. i heard she won Ms. San Diego but didn't do anything for them. These pageant winners should be automatically included in the new years committee and pageant committee... so at least they help a little.

Second, if I was a judge I would say the same thing. As a winner for the youth you want to be an good example. For the elders you would want them to trust in your representation for winning Miss International.
And yes I have done community work for our Hmong people.
It's really not her job to go out on her own to do anything for the community. Miss USA can do that because many business will endorse Miss USA. Hmong business are small and we dont' have that luxury. So I do not think it's fair for us to expect so much from the winners. HINY should have roles for the winner, but even Miss USA doesn't do it on her own without being endorsed. We can't compare the two pageants..we just aren't big enough.
Will I'm not comparing Miss USA with Hmong pageants at all.
What I am saying is that anyone who wins the pageant should have the intentions of going out and helping the community. I mean they won to REPRESENT the Hmong people right? And especially, when they present themselves on stage like this. Its not even about endorsing, its about just volunteering your time to the community, but that doesn't mean going to the OG parties only .

I like how she portrays herself and uses up the stage to capture the attention of the audience, but too much make-up. It's harsh on the eyes.
As for the history part, it's creative.

I don't know any of the contestants....so coming from a neutral stance....I would think all the contestants should try to impress the judges, come up with whatever ideas, be it proverbs, gimmicks, what not....Go for it.....No one is stopping any of the contestants from doing the same. So in her efforts to stand out, I do not feel that she needs to be brought down by all these rude comments. All I see is envy and hate because she simply did a good job. If one envies her, come up with better.

Her speech was very organized like a well developed essay. She started off with a great introduction briefly talking about the history of a Hmong heroine. She then, provided analyses and facts about herself. And concluded with a nice ending. Congrats to her!

Second, if I was a judge I would say the same thing. As a winner for the youth you want to be an good example. For the elders you would want them to trust in your representation for winning Miss International.
And yes I have done community work for our Hmong people.

It's really not her job to go out on her own to do anything for the community. Miss USA can do that because many business will endorse Miss USA. Hmong business are small and we dont' have that luxury. So I do not think it's fair for us to expect so much from the winners. HINY should have roles for the winner, but even Miss USA doesn't do it on her own without being endorsed. We can't compare the two pageants..we just aren't big enough.

What I am saying is that anyone who wins the pageant should have the intentions of going out and helping the community. I mean they won to REPRESENT the Hmong people right? And especially, when they present themselves on stage like this. Its not even about endorsing, its about just volunteering your time to the community, but that doesn't mean going to the OG parties only .
