she should of been still in service now, supersonic was always the way forward, instead now we have gone a step backwards, if the call the Airbus A380 Revolutionary, they are talking rubbish, concorde was and still is revolutionary, Airbus should make a mark II Concorde!
The world became smaller in 1969 with Concorde and eight years ago it became bigger, bigger in size, bigger in distance, the world returned to its original dimensions, dimensions only known before Concorde. Thanks for sharing this beautiful video.
excellent vid and especially because you didnt slap a totally useless music track across it like many of the other sites where the peoples comments and cheers and the plane itself are drowned out
Someday I hope the Concord and the American version SST will return to the skies. With the prices of Carry-on and baggage today. If something is not done about it People are turning away from Flights. The airlines are losing money , but they are doing it to themselfs. Its great to fly from LA to Tokyo in hours and have more time to enjoy life and vacation.
Concorde's never returning to flight, ain't happening. The cost simply outweighs any potential to recoup... therefore no one's going to put up the money to get her re-certified, even under an "Experimental" certificate (it's already been tried) and even if they did, Airbus wouldn't offer Mtx support, so it'd be pointless.
The American SST never flew, so be rather hard for *it* to return to the skies as well. ;)
First time in civilian aviation: the air very air wasn`t broken, by its presence. Not until it was upon you. So it travels at 1300 mph. Men with suits.
The Concorde is an icon and it's nice to see that she is celebrated by so many people. I can't believe that it's almost six years since we awoke from the Supersonic Dream.
Nice video. Another tragic loss, gone the way of the Saturn V and other great monsters. Sure she was noisy, but that's half the fun of it. The world is so tame now.
She was loud & obnoxious, but what a stunningly beautiful bird ! Sad she will be retired to a museum. I hope all who see her will appreciate her contributions to aviation & history.

Me too. In fact, I was one of the millions of people who never had a single flight on the world's only remaining supersonic airliner.
mrceleb2006 3 years ago 2
Billions.
Only about 4 million ever flew on Concorde.
