not using cedar in a wine room is a myth. Redwood too has an odor and i am sure Wine Cellar Innovations has a staining option, does that not have an odor?
@cantabnz I don’t think you can say it’s a myth. Cedar is too aromatic and the scent will penetrate the wine bottles. It’s been documented by many sources. Redwood is much more neutral. Also, specifically in regards to stains, Wine Cellar Innovations uses water based stains which follows the guide lines of the EPA and promotes environmentally safe low VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). Oil based stains have a great odor.
