Thanks for this video. I'm playing this for the first time today at a gaming convention. Although the rules readily available online, they are difficult to follow without the board and pieces in front of you. Great job!
@boloe a minor point: agricola is Latin not Greek (which is γεωργός georgos for farmer, one who tills the earth, or "agroter" for countryman, which could be a farmer as well)
- You mix clay and wood. (The light-brown is clay and the dark-brown is wood.)
- "Grain" not "wheat"
- When you plow a field (or build fences), you have to build ortogonaly adjacent to something already built on your board. (you can't plow a field on the far side of the playerboard... it has to go next to your house, and any subsequent fields have to be plowed ortogonaly adjacent to any previous fields.
no, he doesn't mix clay and wood, if you look at the rules in the box, you can see the material's colours. (light brown for wood and dark brown for clay).
and no, you don't have to build ortogonaly adjacent to something already built on your board. you only have to build same type of construction (rooms, fields, and fences) ortogonaly adjacent each other.
This is a confusing issue, but he DOES mix up the colors. The instructions (at least the most recent ones) clearly state that the wood counters are "dark brown" and that the clay counters are "light brown. Sadly, the wood counters don't look like how they are pictured in the directions and on the cards. Still, the issue is settled definitively by the fact that only 27 clay counters (yellowish-brown) are included in the game, as opposed to 33 wood counters (reddish mahogany brown).
clearly explained, thanks

Yes, it is available in English now. I imagine it should be available from Canadian board game shops.

@Nemisis680
You can find it in most board game stores. It's around 80 bucks. It's the best 80 dollar board game you will EVER buy.

Well, if Agricola is a Latin word, then it is pronounced Ah-gree-kohlah

A 3 hour game would take roughly 1 and a half hours?
Serp1313 2 years ago
he has an accent. "30 minutes per player, so a 3 player game takes 1 and a half hours"
JohnAChapin 2 years ago
I know he meant 3 players, but it really sounds like "A 3hour game would take 1 and a half hours" It might just be a mistake.
It doesn't sound like player at all. I'm not insulting him at all, I think it's a great review and I love Agricola, I also rated this video 5 stars.

At the :10 mark he says: "It takes 30 minutes per player, so a 3 hour game would take roughly one and a half hours."

Good work !!!
I have 3 comments tho':
- You mix clay and wood. (The light-brown is clay and the dark-brown is wood.)
- "Grain" not "wheat"
- When you plow a field (or build fences), you have to build ortogonaly adjacent to something already built on your board. (you can't plow a field on the far side of the playerboard... it has to go next to your house, and any subsequent fields have to be plowed ortogonaly adjacent to any previous fields.
nit-picking...I know...but still... :-)
