  • i dont know which is which!

  • I only gave Dislike, because of the music.

  • i need your help im going to buy 3 LG E2370V-BF monitors they say its ips panels but in the review they say the panel colours are 6 bit with RFC for 8 bit maximuem are they any better than tn panels i already have asus VG23HE monitor and im planing to sell it and go with 3 LG E2370V-BF for surround setup

  • @smallville0forever

This screen 16:9 aspect ratio, there is still 16:10. Watch the video /watch?v=YhB-7vS8XN4 and determined. As for the bit depth can not say anything.

  • the right monitor has better picture quality than the left dell 2209w

  • The movie of choice was not the best one you could make..

James Bond has a cold and low saturated color scheme throughout the entire movie.

Something more colorful and high saturated would have been better. Maybe like a Pixar or DreamWorks animated movie.

  • @thedevo01 Agreed! The movie choice was poor to see any noticeable difference between the two panels. What we did see though was that the IPS panel didn't really suffer from any ghosting issue during those high action sequences, so that's great to know :D

Btw, the music sucks and ruins the video. I would much rather watch these vids with no background music.

  • 1:39 - 1:40 - feel the difference!

  • @bogyoo123

    Casino Royale

  • btw: Most IPS panels are to slow for playing ^^ so the fujitsu one is really an exception :)

  • can any 1 tell me..How many Companies using this tchnology?

I m thinking to buy a new lcd

  • @mdfazal

    Dell, Viewsonic, NEC, LG, Samsung...

Many manufacturers of monitors now have a model with this technology screen. But there are small differences between them, there are IPS, S-IPS, E-IPS. The monitor Dell 2209WA installed e-IPS, it is best simply IPS, there are now new models of Dell 24-inch and 27 technology-IPS, but I think that the monitors are Viewsonic IPS also good.

  • @Inoplatianin Thnx man for the advise and positive reply.. :)

  • @mdfazal

Dell U2410, Dell UltraSharp U2311H, Dell UltraSharp U2211H

    This IPS monitors.

But I would advise reading about IPS monitors with LED backlighting, for example HP LP2480zx, Google to help you.

  • @mdfazal if you want to play with your TFT go buy this one:

Fujitsu P Line P22W-5 Eco IPS

Outstanding g-2-g and r+f reaction with only an imputlag below 1fps!!

if you can read german check out the this test:

    w w w . prad . de / new / monitore / test / 2010 / test - fsc - p22w - 5 . html

  • @bugm4plz Wow nice LCD...but PRICE?

Thnx man for helping me :)

  • @mdfazal

    from best to worst,

    NEC,

    EIZO

    LaCie

    HP

    Dell

    LG.

Forget about Samsung and Viewsonic, Samsung ain't produce IPS panels (only PVA,TN) and Viewsonic had made only one IPS based panel in the last few years so they should be out of the list.

  • @Inoplatianin Ah, sweet :D Thank you very much for the reply!

  • Oh, I think that Dell one isnt bad at all when watching this. But could you please tell me how the viewing angles are from below? I watch movies from my bed which is lower than where my monitor is. And I would also like to know if this monitor has the annoying problem like the Samsungs do, a annoying sound when lowering the brightness?

  • @majtymicke

Angles of the browse with a bottom very good, you should not feel any discomfort and still the screen monitor can be inclined. From the screen monitor any sounds did not hear in general. The screen monitor absolutely silent! For me brightness 16, contrast 75

  • @Inoplatianin Thats very nice to know. My computer is very quiet and I dont want to have a monitor that has noise that makes me go nuts when its on. I think I will order a 2209wa a bit later on. Or perhaps I will go for the new Asus 24" that is coming out in mars. But just to make sure, could you put your ear to the back of the monitor and then try to raise and lower the brightness to see if any noise changes/occurs? I would appreciate it greatly!

  • @majtymicke Ear I am not pushing to the back panel. But I can say that there are no extraneous sounds, the monitor is not published. Brightness at which I work constantly 16. Now asked my friend (he has 2х Dell U2311H), he checked, no sound audible. He also uses the brightness of 16. By the way I advise to look at this model is 23 inches and FullHD evening will be home and check your monitor for the presence of extraneous sound.

  • @Inoplatianin Alright, Ive red reports of buzzing sounds and plastic covers that bang when the monitor heats up, But I feel more secure about it now thanks to you. Thank you! :)

  • @majtymicke As he had promised to listen to my monitor, no sound which can be heard without touching your ear to the back wall there. Monitor silent at any brightness. Sorry for my english.

  • @Inoplatianin No problem, english isnt my native language neither. But I feel more confident with this monitor now and if I get a buzzing one I will return them until I get one that isnt annoying me :)

Thanks yet again for helping me!

  • IPS>>>> TN every way imaginable.

  • stupid music

  • Ok peeps, I'm a new happy possessor of the Dell 2209WA! F@ck TN panels lol

  • I can see you like Country music:}

  • Nice, I have this monitor and is very good:). And please tell me: What music play in the video. Thx.

  • Almost all LCD's have 60 Hz refresh rate. They might accept higher refresh signals (like 75 Hz) but they will convert it to 60Hz and you'll lose quality. Only very few gaming LCD's (like the Samsung 2233RZ) can do 120Hz.

  • @antiglobe : the 120Hz LCD are made especially for 3D viewing

  • @pinkdiamond82 not quite. there are a ot of 120 hz screens that have it to reduce flicker but cant actually accept a 120 hz signal.

there are a lot fewer ACTUAL 120 hz screens, and those are the ones that are compatible with 3d, but not actually made for it.

  • LOL 0:38 :D I jump of my seat :D

  • it's nonsensical to compare IPS with TN

  • @phelipheNS why?

  • why, it makes 110% sense to point out the stupid weaknesses of tn

  • In-plane switching panels are primarily designed for true color management and ultra sharp view, primary used in printing, photography and design industry. ..they are more expensive, and average IPS have slower refresh rate then TN (becuase refresh rate doesn't metter in print and photo editing)

..and if you just play games on your pc i don't see reason to buy a IPS for 1000$ -2000$+ with faster refresh rate for playing games except if you have a bunch of money.

  • Comment removed

  • i just wanted to say that they are made for totaly different purposes, and therefore are incomparable. and also that IPS kick ass

    SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH

  • this Dell 2209WA has 76Hz refresh rate, low input lag and it costs about 250 dollars.

It doesn't have lightbleed, it has wider viewing angles and much better colours.

  • @Leopardipzg that particular monitor is an ips display, but it's e-ips and not made as well, at all.

also the colors seem washed out, even next to a tn panel

  • e-IPS is based on H-IPS. Or more like it is H-IPS. But manufacturers like changing the letters due marketing reasons. The naming schemes of the panels has been weird at best. I don't get your "colors seem washed out" remark either. Reviews (Prad) say otherwise.

  • @FormulaOneSpy manufacturers aren't changing the lettering for marketing reasons, E-ips is actually a different technology than H-IPS, they've discovered a wonderful manufacturing shortcut that reduces the quality slightly and the price significantly, that's why H-ips panels are still $1000

  • e.g. NEC just invented "p-IPS". I bet theyre still H-IPS in structure.

Ive read about simplified pixel structure and more transparent matrix.

These few cheap e-IPS models like 2209WA are also all-around cheap models. Pay extra for higher quality control, add highend features and suddenlyt it's not so cheap anymore. e.g. 2490WUXi2.

$1000 for H-IPS? There are many models available that cost only half.

  • @phelipheNS the refresh rate would be lower if it could be, it's a limitation of ips technology. also there are a couple ips screens for $500-700... which is still a bit high for most people, but for someone like me who already has a 5870 and a core i7, the next step up is better image reproduction.

  • Did you killed the CAT ?

  • I noticed the CoD icons, so i presume you like games ;)

How does the IPS compare to the TN in terms of response-time?

Is there any ghosting on the Dell?

I'm asking this as i'm considering buying a IPS panel, but don't want a laggy screen, and TN panels traditionally have a better response-time (about 5-8 ms), whereas other panels are usually slower (>10 ms).

  • You do not receive any problems with this monitor.

I play various dynamical games and I look many films.

The monitor very good, a colour rendition at high level.

Today in news has read about the new monitor from ViewSonic VP2365wb at the price of $400

So you had a choice for identical cost.

    Good luck.

  • @Inoplatianin

I'd be inclined to agree. A response time that is sub 8 ms is practically irrelevant. As with most things people will argue till they're blue in the face that they can notice it, but to be perfectly frank I consider myself an image aficionado and any benefit you get from a 2ms screen is not noticeable to me (playing CSS). If you watch movies, edit photos, care about your eyes or give a crap about colour fidelity in the slightest, get a PVA or IPS screen. u2210 looks even better!

  • @Gho5tD0g if you only play games, watch movies etc ...buy TN,

if you do graphic work (4 cash) u MUST have IPS monitor

    p.s.sorry4mybadenglish

  • TN sucks for games and movies, because TN has light bleed so it ruins anything that isn't bright as day.

  • What was the music?

  • All That Remains - And Death in My Arms

  • Appreciated!

  • all that remains /,,/ dell monitors /,,/

  • balfasz... pont egy gyors és sötét videót kellett berakni

  • Egyetértek :D

  • I get my 2209WA today!

  • how is it? whats the cons and pros?

  • It's been a while now. My cat actually destroyed mine and I ordered another, sucks to have to pay twice.

I have no regrets. I haven't ever owned very many LCDs but it's definitely the best I've owned. Took me until recently to really fully get used to it, I'm mostly still a CRT guy and I still use a CRT HDTV.

It'd be hard for me to say if it's officially the best LCD in the world, but I like it a lot.

  • Himmer 66 for the money its good you cant

    find better for that price!

  • Problem one, your head!!!

  • where did you get the monitor from? it's not available at newegg.

  • dell 2209WA is great.. the IPS panel is so fucking awesome.. im getting one this week

  • which is the dell monitor?

  • the left one.

  • please...

  • This monitor from Dell is just superb. It's good at movies, games etc. Don't buy a crappy tn monitor. BUY THIS and you will be happy

  • crazy?

  • I do not require the glossy screen. As the monitor not for films.

  • Yeah also, Wide gamut S-PVA is better than an expensive IPS panel ruined by a glossy screen.

  • glossy screen? first off, it has a matt bezel, second, it has an anti-glare filter.. get your facts straight!

and pva's suffer too much from input lag.. with this e-IPS dell you can actually play games compared to any pva panel

  • i am referring to the apple acd led cinema display

  • my bad, no hard feelings :)

  • Do you know how to run DVDs on this monitor w/o letterbox (black bars)

  • I use this monitor only PC

  • Wow, that's like the best TN i've ever seen so far :)

  • It's an eIPS monitor, not a TN

  • lol.. I was talking about the TN panel.

  • Hey kid, cool down and watch your toungue. I know the difference between a TN and an IPS pannel, but you're probably too young to understand the irony towards the tn panel.

BTW I have a Philips 240PW9ES with H-IPS panel that covers 102% of NTSC color gamut.

  • My 2209WA arrived, I am not pumping HD to it or even driving it above 1280x1024 but I hope to get another 2x2209WA and a triple head to go with suitable triple monitor vesa mount coupled witha track IR for Arma 2. Im pretty good at poker and make about $30 an hour so I need to put in the time. Amra2 is going to look so sick in this config.

  • please, could you tell me the name of the last song ? amazing panel :D

  • Song All That Remains - Death in My Arms
