haha you need a bigger set up man, props for what u did tho, thats hard to do on that small of a system! haha ur hands r as big as half the thing anyways, go check out some good turnies. youd be good with them
hey, i also have a vci 100 which i use with traktor. i'd like to use it with VDJ too, but where'd you get the vdj vci100 mappers that'd make me actually "scratch" when the metal plate is touched rather than pinch bending? could you link me to one? thanks in advanced!
I was watching the old school mix video you did and was impressed with your unit. I was already thinking about getting one but your vid sealed the deal.. Good looks on that. My VCI 100 came in the mail today and I'm having an issue with my jog wheels. While scratching, once the platter is released the sound drags and then catches back up. The opposite happens when the platter is nudged forward. My question for you is did you experience any similar issues? If so, how did you work around them?
The pitch control does not have the same range as a normal pitch control like on a cdj100 i do agree. it does take a little adjustingto get used to playing on the vci 100. It is a great piece for use in tight places, like bars and house parties.
did you have to do anything special in order to get virtual dj to play on your vci-100's other then a simple install of the program to your computer? heard a rumor that you need sound cards and codes...is this true?
You will need a sound card for use of the VCI 100 because there is no built in sound card. There are no special codes just install drivers for the sound card, and load the Virtual Dj Program and Bam!

also how do you program drops into the software? any way you could do a video?
Good stuff man... I like the cuts you did, a lot of DJs (like myself) don't know how to do that style of mixing and it just doesn't sound right... I can't flow like you man!
Anyway, good use of the VCI... not too many hip-hop DJs posting vids up like this... Props.
Big mark you did your thing on that vci. I just bought mine a few months ago. Its definatly not vynl but it works. I surely dont miss luggin around turntables or records. I need the name of the track after PSk. I know its Doug e but i cant find that specific song. thnx.
I am using virtual dj so all drops are entered into the sample pads. All software no need for external sample pad like sp roland 404. the olny thing you cant do is stutter your drops like on radio stations, but its cool and very effective.
what is this program ???

cnt u plug a headphones into these?
wush786 1 year ago
@wush786
Nah, they don't have their own soundcard, so you still need a mixer if you want to do any headphone cueing (which you do, of course).

Nice work. Love the vid. Are you using the midi mapping for the VCI-100 that came with VDJ or did you make a custom one?

I have a feeling that the pitch control is to small and therefore not precise.. What do think 'bout that?

I just got a vestax a couple days ago, what do you think is the best software to use for hiphop? Did you spin on wax before you used the the vestax?
lolife225 3 years ago
So far Virtual Dj works the best with this controller. Traktor 3 upgrade is cool, but the traktor le is included and it is very light on features.
Yes I started with wax and still have all my wax and 1200's never give them up. The VCI 100 is ggod for small parties and light work.
