when you guys do a diy lcd projector using an overhead, light from the overhead projector base itself is probably whats causing a majority of your problem with the poor picture. i suggest getting a cardboard box big enough and cutting a hole to allow light reach the mirror put it on the top (check for heat as you will want to add ventalation/fans).even a small amount of light causes a faint image to wash out.you will want a light tight room (no windows open,alarm clock leds' etc.).

I have an "Umm" problem also, when I speak in public. You should record yourself speaking and listen to it. I did. I was shocked to count the numbers of "aah's', "umm's" and "you know's". It is VERY distracting.

Great presentation. Just needs a little work on getting the "Umm" problem squared away.

There's no excuse for not being eloquent while being informative. While we bear a lot of responsibility in paying attention to any presentation, if we're constantly distracted by poor presenting skills, we can't learn effectively.

This 10-minute yawn-inducing lecture could have been presented in half the time and twice the productivity. I'm just grateful than I didn't have to pay tuition to sit through it.

Why go through all that trouble. Just buy a refurbished projector from Infocus Corp. about $400-500. The Playbig IN series are the best so far for the price. AMAZING picture

Surechoice, you got lucky with your HD projector. I've never seen them go for that cheap unless it's not ture HD (only HD compatible), it was used, or it's just a piece of junk. Don't forget the commercial bulbs that sell for $350+ that last only around 3,000 hours. Most DIY projectors use bulbs that see for around 50,000 hrs and will run you about $50. And yes, you can make an HD DIY projector with an AMAZING image.

i tried this experiment myself several years ago. needless to say it did not work as well as i had hoped. in fact it didnt really work at all. I'm currently on my 2nd "real" projector. 100+ in of beutifull 1080hd. outperforms any flat screen or rear rojection tv set. I'll gladly pay to replace lamps every 3-5 thousand hours. more than woth it.

When you build one right it can turn out absolutely amazing. I personally built a 15" LCD lumenlab projector, and it is just incredible. Bright, beautiful picture. Perfect. Just make sure not to try those "turn your tv into a 150" screen!" scams.
