The royal ecosse fought for the French during the Auld alliance and so SOME highlanders continued to do so. Some supported Britain and some were indifferent. You must remember, the highlanders hated the scots as much, if not more than they hated the English.

They're not actually stars, they're fluer-de-lis, the symbol of the French monarchy. That game was set before the French revolution, when that was the French flag, whereas this is set after the French revolution, so we have the familiar French flag.

The Total War series owns, even if it does sometimes benefit from a bit of modding (Europa Barbarorum for RTW is my favorite.)

I haven't really checked out Empire yet apart from watching videos, but it seems good and when I have enough money to build myself a computer I'll have to get it.

But both games are pretty good in my opinion i would get empire total war becuase the graphics are better and there is kick ass scenary plus you get to actually do naval battles! but thats just my opinion get whatever 1 you want.

Errm I have a few questions to ask here; When a player camps why is it best to open up his defences???, if you have infantry superiority, why not just go for a massive charge and defeat their infantry??? and last question, how come its harder to attack than defend??? if tthey have a superior position, charging their infantry will usually get them all killed before they reach their position, due to the enemy artillery. And when defending you just have to slug at the enmy until they die,the enemy has to concentrate on opening a hole in your army

no that only happens with the cannons because they use the shotgun shot or smth and kill 20 guys at each shot in close range. Rockets and mortars dont get any more accurate if the troops come closer.

if he camps he has a superior position, and before you know it, as your army charges, you have lost half of them. If you got over 2x more units than the enemy though it would work. Also its harder to atack because the attacker HAS to get shot first because hes moving and when he gets in range the defender automatically shoots him. So defender gets more shots at his troops.

Deploying on top of a mountain is not unfair. If you are a good commander your going to pick a spot that gives you the greatest advantage. And the top of that hill is a very, very good spot.

he needs to un install it because you only can use your keycode once , you can't play it (or install) when the keycode is already in use , you can try buy a keycode from ebay and install the disk from your friend :p

No, it wouldn't. The unit structure wouldn't work AT ALL. When was the last time you saw a massive company of 75 men advancing across any battlefield after WWI as a tight-nit unit? Modern battles are fought on terms of squads and individuals, or at the highest platoons, not whole regiments and companies.

well, the idea of it being unfair in a multiplayer game is when both teams start out fairly even, but only the lucky guy gets the opportunity of having a large mountain near him to deploy/defend on. now if there was a large mountain on both sides of the map, then it would be fair. I dont to win because i was lucky to have a better starting positon from the start. i want to win, because i out manouvered my enemy with superior tactics

Set a trap, lure the enemy from their positions by offering bait, then divide them and conquer them.

I was playing at 1400x900 and all medium resolution, but my PC can't hold it....It's like 8 fraps p/second.

But my computer can run Crysis, Call of Duty 4 and 5, GTA 4, and a lot more games (in medium/high resolution)....I don't know why this game lags so much..
