  • unfortunately this is being taught everyday in the good ol' south

  • This, this is painful.

  • This gave me my RDA of belly laughs and some serious chills - sounds like the dude was channeling Sagan!

  • "We have been given divine authority to take dominion over all life" -- too good! Hope people realize it and change!!

  • Imagine if "blasphemous men" hadn't made their mark. Reasonable people might still consider Biblical "Science" science. Granted, real science has only found cures for disease, courses of stars, new and provocative theories about the actual dawn of the cosmos... It hasn't found a decent way to purge the evil spirits or justify the irrationality of Biblical "Science". Give it time though. If those things can be done, real science is the only sure-fire way to find the answers

  • Oh my goodness. Why.

  • Sounds more like Kermie than Carl. This was lame!

  • That was both funny and scary. Reasonable Doubts is totally the best atheist/Humanist podcast out there!

  • Man this is so good. You really scripted it perfectly, using Sagans phrases and all. WOW

Luckily it is only a parody, I cant imagine Sagan saying this.

  • lucky this is just a parody ....

  • Oh my gosh that was awesome!

  • The text of this is masterfully written, and the impersonation of Sagan is good...If only it had some slides or animation, it would be much better.

  • of fuck tht ws scary

  • @3:56,

This part isn't an accurate parody. True, hardcore, Biblical inerrantists, who actually have my respect, deny that thought comes from the brain. They agree with the Bible that thinking is done in the heart(Genesis 6:5, Matthew 15:19). This is consistent with Ancient Egyptian beliefs.

Leading Bible scholar, John W. Robbins, wrote "brains are not necessary for thinking" while he was blasting Carl Sagan for his atheism. Robbins simply started out with axioms that denied the brain.

  • @TheFlanker35 how can you thinking be done in the heart, that doesn't make sense.

  • @BrianPurge,

It can't be done in the heart, but ancient peoples thought otherwise and people who literally believe the Bible still do today.

  • @TheFlanker35 oh yeah, i know that some people beleive they think with their heart

  • At first I felt sick to think someone made it appear as if Carl Sagan said these things.

Then after a few minutes the sickness melted away as the logic employed in this argument is unraveled.

  • clever, but sounds a little bit like Kermit the frog

  • I was kind of chuckling until 2 minutes in. Then, it got scary.

  • hahahaha, awesome

  • This was amazing. I chuckled the whole way through.

  • Oh my. Hearing Carl speak of such things. I'm not sure what to say... Scary, I guess- No, painful.

  • hahaha, 'There'd be no limits...to what we could justify-'

    Brilliant!

  • hahahahahahhaa really funny

  • Carl sagan has the most epic voice ever if only he was the narrator of every documentry ever created.

  • good job on the voice XD

  • I didn't think it was possible to blaspheme against secular humanism - but this would be it. Though it kicks serious ass! 5 stars and fav

  • LUV IT!!

  • I can almost be fooled by this! XD

  • New Life! welcome new listeners.

  • this is a funny piece...

  • i almost died laughing

  • all i can say is... wow!

    freak'n awesome man xD

  • superb! you should make an entire series of this!!!

  • LMAO This is great.

  • The Reasonable Doubts podcast is one of my favorites. I almost wet myself when I heard this particular episode. Thanks for posting it!

  • Me too!

  • that a very good Sagan impersonation. Congratulations.

  • excellent and amazing similarity! even if at some points it sounds a little like Kermit the Frog :P

  • LoL

  • Beautiful ....

  • well, then watch REAL Carl Sagan videos... the message is MUCH more beautiful than this funny mockery.

  • very good

  • Very funny

  • very nicely done

  • That was brilliant.

  • The voice is done by one of the guys from The Reasonable Doubts podcast, Jeremy Beahan I think.

  • Your Saganesque cadence and emphasis are indeed impressive. If only the human voice's wavefrom were easier to control, you might very well be one of the best Sagan voice imitators. I encourage you to keep on practicing the Sagan voice. You have a certain vocal edge over the vast majority of Sagan-mimics i've heard so far. And i've heard a lot. Even the mental flow you used is very Carl-like (in an evil-opposite, anti-Sagan kind of way :-)
