  • Is there any chance we could see a high quality mp3 of this posted? Or of all the songs? This LP is pretty hard to find, and when you can find it it isn't cheap. This is the kind of thing that should be out there, because it'll probably never be released commercially again.

  • Great song from a great film.

  • Agita' is agitare that is to worry and not to shake.

  • Beh no dai.... le parole in italiano un pò c'entrano!!! in ogni caso.... questa canzone è davvero un capolavoro! :)

  • These are all Sicilian slang words.

  • Le parole in "italiano" non c'entrano un cazzo nella canzone... Però fa collassà.

  • Canzon' (canzone) = song

  • @miccar2005

    Thank you, great work!

  • They are almost all neapolitan's words; they are pronounced with an american accent: Agita = you shake (your paunch); Cumpà (compare) = great friend; Panzon' (pancione) = great paunch; Pizza = Pizza!; Soffritt' (soffritto) = fried; Baccalà = dried cod; mangia (mangiare) = to eat; “che te pozzan' schiattà” = it's a neapolitan insult like “that you'll die!”; Maronn'! (Madonna!) = Neapolitan cry for help to Madonna; Linguin' (linguine) = it's a type of Italian pasta; Panza (pancia) = paunch.

  • @miccar2005 These are all Sicilian slang words

  • @tjbarrie Ti assicuro che sono parole napoletane, anche perchè sono pronunciate con accento napoletano.

  • @miccar2005 Vero, sono napoletane

  • Part III The tasty smelling peppers With “linguin' “ on the side I know it gets confusing You just cannot decide But if you cross your “gomba” [?] There is not a place to hide So think about la “panza” With that little man inside Agita, my “cumpà” in the “panzon” When I eat he gets a treat like a “ganzon” Here enjoys every meal, every bite that I steal “Agita” my “cumpà” in the “panzon” “Agita” my “cumpà” in the “panzon”
  • Part II My lovely, lovely woman I hate to see her cry But when I start to “mangia” I get the evil eye My “uoli” [?] 's getting stronger Ah, to hell with my “cumpà” Then I get it from my woman “che te pozzan' schiattà” Agita, my “cumpà” in the “panzon” When I eat he gets a treat like a “canzon” Here enjoys every meal, every bite that I steal Agita, my “cumpà” in the “panzon” Ahhh “maronn' “
  • “Agita” my “cumpà” in the “panzon” When I eat he gets a treat like a “canzon” Here enjoys every meal, every bite that I steal “Agita”, my “cumpà” in the “panzon” Some people like their “pizza” Some people like a “soffritt' “ And others like hot pepper On everything they eat You hunger with a “uoli” [?] To taste some “baccalà” And all of once you think Well, I answer to “cumpà”
  • Love this song! From one of my favoutie films. Can I be cheeky and ask you to post the lyrics. I can't catch all the words and I would love to learn this and serenade my sister with it. She's had a rough time recently and it would cheer her up no end

  • @elephantbarbiegirl

Yes, the song is pure fun! And the lyrics are hard because of all the Italian words .

Check the comments for my transcription. Enjoy!
