  • @Rafathaman94 He could have won this match in straight sets if he weren't such a bad closer. He's been in positions to beat Federer and let the oppertunities slip away time and time again. Their match in Doha is the lastest example of his inability to beat Federer when he should. Obviously he has beaten him before, but for the most part Federer dominates their Head-Head.

  • Remember this match!! and I also remember that the 2nd set point at 5:30 was actually a second serve!! I was like " omg what a serve at such an decisive moment!!! "

  • Five GS matches Davydenko would probably like to have back:

    This one

    2005 RG SF against Puerta

    2006 AO QF against Federer

    2007 AO QF agains Haas

    2010 AO QF against Fedederer

  • oh yess.. 0:26

  • ugh davydenko up a break in all 3 sets

5-2 30-15 bad lead to blow

  • If only davy won this and kicked nadal's arse in the final, not choke it like fed

  • @AlexRich20 I'm sure that Davy would have kicked rafas ass in the FINAL pretty Sure !

  • good quality. ty!

  • Federer is the best .. but i feel so sorry for Davy if he wasn't failing at all the pressure points he would have been at least with 25% better career

    poor Davy :(

  • hard fought match, from both sides..

  • 1:08,was that

  • Against Federer, Davydenko always seems to find a way to snatch defeat at the hands of victory.

  • to be up a break in all 3 sets and still lose the match

  • XD from 1:34-1:37 who the hell was saying ''aiiiiieehhhhhhh''''' lol was that from Federer? XD if it was that was awesome! >:D

  • @kojiro99999 was clearly not from federer

  • @kojiro99999 it wasnt. notice how the voice continues at 1:39 when Federer clearly isn't say anything

  • I thought only Nadal could make a straight set win last 3 hours

  • Nadal was very lucky of not facing either Nalbandian or Davydenko at their best in his first couple of french open wins....federer always had to deal with those two!

  • last set...Federer came back from 5-2. Jesus...

  • This was one of Davy's matches that's best left forgotten. The chances he had.....

  • Being the fan of Fedex, I feel like Davy would have had more chances against Nadal in the final in comparison to Roger.

  • It's not like Davydenko had a lead and squandered it.

This vid just shows that having a set point against Federer and winning one are just two completely different things. Davydenko had a similar story at the 2006 Australian Open. He had like 10 set points to go 2-1 in sets vs Federer but still couldn't finish it off.

  • This match was one of the all-time great chokejobs. Federer never got any momentum. Davy just found more ways to lose.

  • @ihateuutube are you fucking kidding me?

  • no way that this donk is the best ever... GO SAMPRAS!

  • @TheSjeknek - n who the fuck are u to say that

  • @TheSjeknek THIS IS RG'S SEMIFINAL. SAMPRAS DIDNT KNOW WHAT IS THIS EXCEPT ONCE!AND ROG HAD 4 RG'S FINALS. THAT'S ONE OF 100 REASON THAT THIS DONK IS THE BEST EVER.

  • great quality!

  • This is just typical Davydenko. Finding a way to lose and pissing away crucial chances.

  • @Anaconda43VR

He won 2/3 of his previous matches with Federer, and 3/3 with Nadal, won Doha, Shanghai, and ATP Masters Finals. What about those did he typically piss away?

  • In grand slams. Davydenko has pissed away many opportunities.

  • In grand slams!!!

You know, where Davydenko is playing awsome, and Federer is playing poorly, Davydenko is 6-3 4-1 up and loses in 4. Yep.

  • Je me souviens d'avoir vu ce match en direct sa a été énorme les deux joueurs ont été incroyables !

  • Federer is the king. Rest are trying to get there but untill federer doesn't retire no body will get there such as davydenko, delpotro or even any more there

  • Will be an interesting FO this year, I wonder if Nadal will be fit or if Rog can defend - he's never played as defending champ before will see how it affects him if at all.

  • Davydenkos backhand looks awsome love it how he can direct it in any way

  • i know......he can hit the ball in any direction whenever he wants!! but if you go to see....almost all russians have gifted Bh's....but Davy's backhand is easily one of the best! But when it comes down to the overall game FEDERER is #1

  • no one can beat federer. He is INVINCIBLE

  • you can beat him....but not when he is playing at his best!!

  • 16-6 Federer

    Grand Slam titles

  • Rafa's barely competed in half the amount Fed has though!

  • and at the rate his knees are coming at him, he wont ever be able to

Nadal is a great player, but he doesnt know where his body's limits are

i dun think its a coincidence that right after his best 52 weeks (french, wimby, aussie, world no.1) comes his worst 52 weeks (world no.4 and not a single final in GS)

but to be fair, if thats what it takes to overthrow federer, despite for only less than a year's time, i guess i would have done the same

  • Probably because he was injured most of the time.

  • Only Nadal can beat Federer, when Federer is in top shape.

  • Or Safin......

  • I remember watching this match live.. davydenko was playing really great yet can't get a set against federer. This match shows how good federer was back then.

  • i did it too, thats when i got charmed by davydenko, amazing player!

  • back then?? He's still awesome

  • Yup, I still think Federer is awesome but he is not as great and dominating as he was before. I never said he was not awesome anymore.

  • @wzupskies A brutal win by Roger...

  • @wzupskies still is

  • @wzupskies me too, just like in Australia last year it's like the dude cant hold a lead

  • @wzupskies except on break points when nadals accross the net

  • i get a feeling that match was a lot closer than the scoreline showed. davydenko is a bit of a choker when he needs to win a big point it seems. if he was able to win the pressure points he would be right up there with the big boys i recon

  • Davydenko's backhand down the line is unbelieveable. Just stunning to watch that shot.

  • point of the match at 2:33

  • after watching i was rooting for davydenko :( poor guy had so many chances.

  • That backhand from Davy can be one hell of a weapon!

  • fuck you

  • noos

  • Davydenko is awesome....

    woaaaa.....what a perfect down the line 0:10 eff-less

  • dang.. that davydenko guy is proo !

  • Nevermind my last comment, Davy ended up going up 4-1. I commented before I watched.

  • Great match, a match up you don't see that often, thanks a bunch for the upload!

  • Davydenko was up a break in EVERY set and couldn't win any of them.

  • And he had a game point in the third set to go up 4-1.

  • XD 1:35 i laugh my ass off when federer does that XD

  • 3:22 wohhh good

  • a nother video and in good quality cool

  • i remembered that match was a brilliant one and i was looking for the highlights for quite a while. thank you for that post.
