Everything is cool with K750, except the fact that the fonts on the keyboard are just "labels" like any another other older models that will eventually "wear out" after prolonged use.....
I've been looking for a wireless keyboard to use since I use my flatscreen as a monitor. All I could find for a while were the mice/key combos. I already got a sleek Logitech mouse I spent $80 on (excellent battery life), so I was looking for a solo. Then I found this beauty and ordered it from Amazon. Wasn't expected to spend $50 on it, but when the battery usage (or therefore, lack of) is considered, it should end up paying itself off soon. :)
I picked mine up today. Its very cool.....mine was 100% charged when i unboxed it. Im typing this right now with it ;-). Great use of technology. Also picked up a M510 mouse with 2 year battery life. The wave of the future.
@916MattAttack yes, it is charging while it's "off", but i don't switch it off, because the battery will last for 3 month without any light, so i don't care for one night without light and switched on. ;)
The Mac version of the SolarApp has a bad bug: If you run it, it spews out dozens of messages each second to your log file. Logitech knows of this, but has not removed the app! DO NOT download and run the solar app until it is fixed! The keyboard works perfectly well without it, and in my computer room, with just the desk light, it is always sufficiently lighted.
If I got the mac version of this keyboard but wanted to use it on Windows bootcamp, could I use the Logitech Driver to assign my option key to be the windows button, etc. ?
This seems like the perfect keyboard but seems really cheap. If you put up those chintzy little stands up for elevation, they will surely break with some pressure.
Awesome solution for the couch though. Would never purchase this as a main keyboard. Especially office work and multimedia/gaming.
They have the idea right but this product doesn't live up to its expectations. Its cheaply made, My first 1 died ; my 2nd one drops about 15% battery in a couple of days, I leave it near a window which it charges reasonably fast but will drop down to 60% in no time at all. its not going to save u any money as it will prob break before u re-coup the money from spending out on this expenisve gimmick. a battery run wireless keyboard would easly last 1 year and would be a lot cheaper to run.
@TechDJ87 Wrong. I have a $70 logitech wireless keyboard. I use it with rechargable AA's. Ive paid roughly $34 extra in batteries on top of the cost of the keyboard. On top of that I use some pretty decent batteries under heavy 5+hour days all week on the computer (animation major) my keyboard will not go longer than 2 months on a charge. If that. the worst part is when it starts cutting out in the middle of my work. Then it takes at least 2-3 hours to charge the batteries. I wanna try the k750.
@tazbo28 well that maybe true for you then, but I have never owned a keyboard that went flat in less than 10months and I use the computer a lot. the k750 in my experience is not worth the price tag for its performance. It would likely last a couple of years before breaking and My first one broke within 6months, my current one struggles to keep charge and I leave it near a window all day with 500+ Lux. battery's are cheap and if the keyboard lasts 4yrs + then it would out last k750. IMHO
I just found out that the battery needs to be change every 3 months! WTF!? whats the sense of solar power if u have to change the battery every 3 months?!
its sucks!!! I ran out of power after few months then recharge by a bright window for 4 days and when I use it again in just a day power ran out again!!! place it again by the window for 2 days and same thing!!!
This is the best keyboard I've ever used! It has a solid feel and the keys have just the right feel. Spacing and layout is excellent. The 'available light and power' button showing the amount of light the solar cells are receiving is a very nice added touch.
First of all, there is no software for Macs to set preferences. So you need to hit There is a Mac version. I got it from Apple for $59. But it has issues:
You have to press the fn and the F# keys to get the usual Mac things like expose to work.
Second, it makes my apps work differently. With Thunderbird, for example, the focus is lost when a message is selected, so you can’t just keep hitting the delete key to go through your mails and discard most of the junk ones.
Mine Died after 6months. waiting for a nice new shiny one to come through the post and get scratched again as it inevitably will; being made of crappy plastic on the top. I requested they exchange it for K800 and was refused. Now i'm stuck with this keyboard for another 6 months until its charging system fails me again.
Do you happen to know whether the ON/OFF button is meant to turn on the keyboard with respect to its ability to charge? Or can it charge even if you press "OFF"? Thanks.
@kritiker14 You can only connect unifying devices to a unifying reciever. So unless your G930 has an orange unifying logo on it then no. I have a few logitech products and annoyingly they all have a different wireless system. They need more unifying products as I have crap tastic blutooth mouse; generic wireless controller and a unifying keyboard -.-
No question I want one, but considering how cheap calacalutors with solar panels are, this does seem quite expensive, also there is no matching mouse, that is dissapointing.
@DropkickBE1 fair enough, I guess the question is what is the ratio between how often you use the mouse, and how long it needs to charge. That or charge the mouse by plugging it into the keyboard over night.
@DropkickBE1 Well, they can distribute it throughout, b/c your hand doesn't cover 100% of the surface. You only need enough area like on a solar-powered calculator. So it's still feasible. Plus when you are typing and not using the mouse, it can utilize the whole surface area to charge.
@DropkickBE1 Forget the mouse. Just hook up a solar panel on top of a touchpad. Or replace the mousepad with a finely textured solarpad under the mouse (for those who need great precision). Logitech, PM for designer fee :D
@beyond9001 Well if the keyboard lasts up to 3 months before charge in the dark. Then maybe a mouse could last that long.So u just let it sit int he light once to charge.
This uses a proprietary comm method not because it uses less power, but rather because IT SELLS MORE LOGITECH PRODUCT (they hope). Power draw is an unimportant issue in this instance, since even though it's wireless and has a battery it's being recharged essentially continuously. (To be continued...)
The actual difference in power draw between a Bluetooth circuit and this "Unified" one is trivial when there is a continuous recharging of the battery. If Logitech had open-sourced the spec and submitted it as a new proposed standard to replace or supplement Bluetooth, that would be a different matter, but Logitech kept it proprietary specifically because they want to control and limit what devices you are likely to buy. It's called vendor lock-in, and it's highly unethical.
Why was the sweet design ruined with the ugly white-ish surround?
"Allow me to demonstrate" -- without any actual usage? Great demonstration.
PS: Why do you need multiple keyboards or mice for one computer? Besides the insane idea of creating a split-screen IRC channel? Well, actually, I can think of something... (local area network gaming) but those are usually multiple boxes, with dedicated input devices anyways. Can't have players screen-watching...

I've had this keyboard for a little over a week now and aside from being amazing to type on, the battery level hasn't gone down any. I normally work in a dark environment and that doesn't seem to affect the its charging ability. Light from the monitor is enough to keep the keyboard charged. Seriously, I've yet to see this thing drop down to 99%, It's always at 100% charge.
Bought it works great no problems. I think I seen a button rechargeable battery on the top. Types great an doesn't slow down. I think if they make another one it should have a arch on it like the microsoft arch keyboard. It would be nice if they made solar mouse too.
This keyboard is great, battery never drops bellow 100% even under a shiity energy saver bulb; its plenty of juice, its just a shame they cant make their minds up on what type of wireless frequency they use, my Revolution mouse mouse is Bluetooth, my F710 Gamepad is just wireless and my K750 solar keyboard is unifying. so this great as I now need 3 dongles Argh. BTW Bluetooth sucked as connection method keeps unpairing now and again. Unifying is perfect its just nothing else Ive got uses it :(
@TechDJ87 I know what you're saying. But blue tooth always sucks. I actually ahve an older model of keyboard and mouse that are blue toothe from them. I paired them with my built-in bluetooth adapter and THAT was a pain.
@ps00n the good things about first person video loggers critiquing anything is that the sentiment is generally quite honest and when several people have made videos about an item you can get a good impression of what it is really like... I just get offended when the corps tries to replicate this but makes it slick and greasy... anyway the voice is out of sync with the hand movements and he didn't type on it!!!
@miscpro I understand, but it would only be fake if they tried making it look like a legit user review (with different username, non-slick and greasy video, etc), but they're making it apparent that it's Logitech's own (their own username, slick and greasy video, etc) but in a format that Youtubers enjoy (an unboxing). I thought it was clever and useful anyway.
@ps00n Well what you are describing would be fraudulence. I am talking about fake-ness, which I'd imagine is something the advertisers intentionally thought of, along with adding a dash of facetiousness to compensate for it in the add, but I mean fakeness in the sense of fake fur. You know it's fake but you imagine the real thing is probably better. However unlike fake fur this advert doesn't make me feel good, especially knowing some uncreative prick has been paid to make this. ; )
Well, it sounds too stupid as if you did this ad for kids. Didn't you? "Wow", everyone now wants to buy this keyboard. Wow, wow, wow! Don't you think it sounds like you are telling to about this "wow" keyboard in the kids garden? "Wow", "Wow", "Wow"... Duhh....
Would be hard to type on your desk if it doesn't have a tilt feature to angle the keyboard when typing. Would be nice to have fluorescent letters on the keys or better yet an illuminated keyboard like the K800 would be perfect!
Need a handkerchief I think I'm drooling...

The wireless solar keyboard Κ750 from Logitech is a very important ecological innovation showing a likely future trend.
Its ergonomic design and its small thickness are also two important features.
It supports all the known Windows versions (XP, VISTA, 7).
We look forward to seeing similar products from other companies, as well as a price fall!

Will I grow a third arm if I buy this keyboard too?

@miscpro What's so fake about it? :S
ps00n 1 year ago
@ps00n the good things about first person video loggers critiquing anything is that the sentiment is generally quite honest and when several people have made videos about an item you can get a good impression of what it is really like... I just get offended when the corps tries to replicate this but makes it slick and greasy... anyway the voice is out of sync with the hand movements and he didn't type on it!!!
miscpro 1 year ago
@miscpro I understand, but it would only be fake if they tried making it look like a legit user review (with different username, non-slick and greasy video, etc), but they're making it apparent that it's Logitech's own (their own username, slick and greasy video, etc) but in a format that Youtubers enjoy (an unboxing). I thought it was clever and useful anyway.
ps00n 1 year ago
