There are a couple of facts. 1) Not everyone in this country is a Christian or celebrates Christmas. 2) Almost every religion has some sort of celebration in the month of December. Yes, it has pagan roots and I acknowledge that. But Pagans don't really celebrate it anymore. They celebrate Ostara, similar to Easter. And Easter is regarded as a Christian holiday so, you lose. Ask one of your (probably nonexistant) Pagan friends if they celebrate.

For one, I think some say "Happy HolidayS" as in plural...meaning if you are Christian, that saying also covers New Years. If you are in school as a teacher or student you wont see some of those people till after break anyway.
and if you are a store... "Happy HolidayS" can cover Christmas + New Years... less money and time on decorations! Conservatives love capitalism so this makes sense from a money stand point.

I just don't understand why people take the term "Happy Holidays" as a threat. There are a couple of facts. 1) Not everyone in this country is a Christian or celebrates Christmas. 2) Almost every religion has some sort of celebration in the month of December. People are just respecting the fact that someone may celebrate something other than Christmas. It is an all inclusive term that includes Christmas. I don't see anything wrong with that. (continues)
