So the broke federal gov is going to come to the heartland to address your "needs". Folks in the country "need" outdoor recreation ? give me a break. Seems like country folk have gotten along just fine without the fed government helping them with outdoor recreation for a long time. And the council is comprised of sec treasury, homeland security, etc. Folks that really know how to have fun in the great outdoors. Get ready for some major screwing . Maybe the fed gov calls that "recreation"
I read the order and it is scarey. It doesn't say what they are going to do other than expand government's reach to more effectively "engage" the rural population. I can imagine things like fertilizer runoff permits and taxes, telling farmers what to plant maybe some mandatory homeland security cameras, lots of paperwork that mean you need a full time clerk. When the gov. tries to fix a problem that doesn't exist, beware!
This is just more implementation of the U.N.'s Agenda 21. They are going to slate more land for biofuels, reduce food crop yields to raising prices and convert as much farmland as possible over to controlled access wildlife preserves.
Dan, you had me there for a split second with the 9th amendment business! It's almost too bizzare to belive how much of what this president is doing that seems to come straight out of the CM. The Secretary of Agriculture appointed by President Eisenhower, Ezra Taft Benson had some great insights regarding the slow creap of socialism and communism. Benson opposed the system of government price supports and aid to farmers, arguing that it amounted to unacceptable socialism.
@SultanOfShinola It's funny, the government used to help out farmers in a very socialistic manner, but now they throw farmers under the bus and help out the big ag corporations instead, just as socialist it seems to me, except the little guy gets screwed worse.
