i'm mixed by the way. sometimes mixed people have a hard time fitting in, but it's not that bad. a lot depends on where and how you're raised.

i guess this show wouldn't work with full-blooded chinese kids, because taiwan people would feel uncomfortable seeing them act so naughty and precocious. but mixed kids can get away with more, even if they'll face a lifetime of not fitting in anywhere, haha, jk.

My Chinese girlfriend was impressed that I understood the "Ma" pun, as I had seen it in a book as an example of tones in Chinese.

Ma can mean both 'mother' & 'horse' in Chinese, but in different tones, which I guess this girl hasn't mastered yet.

Taiwan and China spoken MANDARIN (chinese) are different. They intonation and the way it is spoken are different. So, though the people of these two country may be able to communicate, the understanding may still be need a little working on...

spoiled and naughty have different meanings. I was naughty(all kids are naughty, just a matter of degree) and I was disciplined. Obviously, #5 used to get it her way and it would make her life really hard as she gets older in a highly conformative Asian Society.
