went there in 1988 feels like yesterday, would love to go back one day with my partner. May never happen because couldnt afford it. Thanks for the video
@magic5527 It is a beautiful area to visit that is for sure, I hope you get back to Mackinac Island sometime in your lifetime to revisit! Thanks for stopping by the video and leaving your comment, glad you enjoyed it..
Thank you for this beautiful footage..I was there in 97 and named my daughter after Jane Seymour's character in " Somewhere in Time" :-) I can't wait to get back to the island!
@zebrazoo1 Wow! now that is a special name for your daughter :-) I'm glad you found my video and enjoyed it so much. It is a special place that is for sure and I really want to go back soon too!
@UTmed4lyfe Yeah, not to many places like that left in the world anymore! It was nice to not have any noises from the vehicles around. Definately takes you back in time a bit.. and thats a good thing!
@mfowler80 Glad you found my video and it brought back some memories for you :-) It was a such a nice place to visit and someday I will get back there to enjoy it once again! Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment..
Great video. I worked on Mackinac when I was in college. I was there when Somewhere in Time was filmed. That was a fun time. I worked for Dr. Bill and Jimmy Chambers, driving tour buggies. Dr. Bill and Jimmy were the best bosses I ever had. They were great leaders, ran a tight ship, and encouraged me to finish college. I will always be greateful to them.
@TheFredClark1 Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment! It is nice to hear stories from others of the Island. I loved it there and think it would be a nice place to work and possibly live. I liked that there were no cars and the ease of the place takes you back when times were less hectic and chaotic. I hope to get back there someday soon and enjoy it once again :-)
@kim2848 Thank You! I'm glad you enjoyed the video so much :-) The island is so nice and takes you to another world it seems at times. If you would ever get the chance to go don't pass it up. We had such a wonderful time there.. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
EXCELLENT video! I have been wanting to go there since 1980 and now watching your video, I want to go even more! How wonderful it must have been to be able to walk around where "Somewhere In Time" was filmed!!! Thank you so much for sharing this fantastic video!
@JMC01644 Thanks for stopping by and leaving your nice comment :-) Please get to Mackinac Island if at all possible, you would love it there I'm sure. Funny how you mentioned "Somewhere In Time"?? I had not heard of the film before our visit but did once returning and bought the movie. It was neat seeing the Island on Film and seeing cars there driving around.
@KymsPink59Cadi Thanks for your comment :-) Mackinac Island takes you back in time sort of.. You would really love the place I'm sure. I wouldn't mind living on an island like that myself away from the hustle and bustle of everday life. Glad you enjoyed :-)
Awesome presentation:) Looks so CLEAN. Kind of like a more mature 'northern' Disney. Makes me wish every town was fashioned and kept up more like a paradise...
@seahue Thanks Seahue :-) I really liked the feel here on the island and yes it was very clean. Even with the horses and their ease at just dropping when ever they feel like it and wherever LOL! They have people on bicycles riding all around sweeping up the poop! almost as fast as it happens LOL! The smell lingers though quite a bit but it didn't damper my visit there at all.
@sjsm5 Ahh those are on the west side of the state I see.. I have never been to that side of Michigan yet. I hear there are some nice white sand dune beachs over there somewhere? Maybe a trip up there to see those at some point..
You know, it's been about 30 years since I've been to Mackinac Island, but it's still looks exactly the same. Amazing. Thanks for sharing, you brought back memories. Beautifully done.
@ToppervisionEnt I don't know about you but I'm glad the island still looks the same from some 30 years ago. This was my first visit there but an island like this needs to stay somewhat the same I feel to preserve its character. Everything nowadays has to be the best and always updated to stay with the times so it is nice to visit a place like this that kind of takes you back in time so to say. Thanks for your visit and comment..
@lmmsl Thank You Menu! Glad you enjoyed! I really didn't know what to expect from the island but my visit there was very enjoyable and I wouldn't mind going back there again sometime. Thanks for your comment :-)
@NaturesFairy It was real nice not having any cars or motorized vehicles around you while on the island. A step back in time for sure and I liked it :-) Thanks for stopping by and commenting..
