@draklord031196 hi this is 4lldaytech and i wanted to tell u a little about rooting ur phone and running on a different network.....running ur phone on a different network requires you to unlock the device then u will be able to put in a different networks sim card such as tmobile or at&t then u wont have any problem....now rooting ur device is like changing user privliges on a computer from being a stanard user to an administrator.....its very simple ...check out my chanel

Cool Video! I got rid of my iPhone 4 and got the Captivate too and I LOVE it so much MORE!!! For me, it was like going from a 4 (iPhone 4) to a 10 (Captivate) on a scale of 1 to 10!!! I was really surprised too! I thought the iPhone 4 was totally IT, but there's a whole world out there that has far surpased it and I was stuck there til I moved forward & above with my Captivate! Hey everyone who's looking for the htc sense clock just look up the fancy widget apk file, find the andrioid central sideload winder machine and sideload the apk on to your phone.
I have the samsung epic 4g, idk if you've answered this already but i want to figure out how to remove the touchwiz ui and put either htc sense on it or google's nexus s ui on it. Do I have to root it to do that?

i just got my captivate and dont know how to get my contacts or music, on it. i had a iphone 3g and my contacts are on windows contacts, and my music is on itunes. Can the Captivate sync sort of like an iphone, and save my contacts, music and pictures, am i suppose to download software so my computer recognizes the captivate. Or is it completly different. I have no idea. And I can not find any info how to do any of it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
@MAXSL5001 idk about contacts you might want to try samsung kies, idk what all it does but it might be of some help, and for the music just download doubletwist for your mac/pc and it imports all the itunes music and gives you the option to sync it to your current phone.

Okay soo I cracked my Iphone screen and am now debating on whether or not I should get a Capitvate. Okay, you might not have the answer to this qustion but i was just wondering, I have my captivate rooted, and i still have the update.zip file on my internal sd card, should i leave it there, or is it fine to go ahead and move it off? I was messing around with it, and when reinstalling packages after moving the update file back to the computer there was an error finding the update.zip file... That last part was kinda random, but sorry anyways... What have you done?
@DanteBarcelona well you need to replace it with a new one each time you do another update.zip mod/hack/whatever... it wont affect anything if you leave it there or remove it. In other words, do what you want with it.

And I heard you talking about the lag fix, and i had completed one myself, but I was having problems with the battery life, and i Wasn't going to sacrifice a terrible battery life for some faster performance, Are you having any of the same issues?

@TheMrSwaggalicious I like it more because Ive had an iphone for too long, I got tired of ios and the same old experience. If you havent had every single iphone and you like the clean polished OS and don't mind the apple-lockdown on the software, its a great phone.
One other question I installed doubletwist to my pc and subscribed to all the pod casts i had on itunes on google reader but when I try to import them into doubletwist it asks me to sign into my google acct - then I get the unknown error message.

I'm trying to record video / audio of me practicing drums ( on the advice of my drum teacher) so that I or he can critique it latter. The problem I am having is that the audio (I think) is overpowering the mic and playback even through an amp just plain sucks . Video is awesome.

@BigBamaOTP Either the Android Market or you can download the .apk files from the internet (ill leave it to you to find out where) and install them through a file manager app.

@DanteBarcelona there's about a 95% chnace well get froyo in September. And no, when you update, it will be like a brand new rom, so you wont be rooted after updating. You have to redo most of that kind of thing unfortunately. But you have to do the same on any phone I guess.
Im curios to ask since u have this only real good Andoid worth getting from at&t is it really worth getting? I have an iphone 3G and I was thinking about upgrading to the iphone4 because of all the great apps but this phone looks like a winner ! @modster7 I'm still very happy with my captivate. If you like being in a more open OS, its definitely for you. After you do a little tweaking, its just as good as the big dog android phones on other carriers as well. The GPS fix IS coming in September (confirmed by Samsung). If you're bored of iOS (or being locked in to Apple) I highly recommend this phone.
@uvlight im pretty sure you can through the recovery boot menu. Shut down the phone, then hold down the volume up and down buttons along with the power button as you boot up, release after you see the AT&T world phone screen. should be an option in there.
@Hollywould1999 unfortunately, the lag fix for me was... well... less than simple. i'll try and get around to it, but im not even sure if i could redo the fix haha

@DanteBarcelona there's about a 95% chnace well get froyo in September. And no, when you update, it will be like a brand new rom, so you wont be rooted after updating. You have to redo most of that kind of thing unfortunately. But you have to do the same on any phone I guess.

Im curios to ask since u have this only real good Andoid worth getting from at&t is it really worth getting? I have an iphone 3G and I was thinking about upgrading to the iphone4 because of all the great apps but this phone looks like a winner ! Are you still happy with it and is the iphone4 really that bad? any reply help thanks! and the only issue I have so far is the GPS I heard alot of bad thing about it and I use Gps alot but I see there might b an update in September if that true! thanks!

@modster7 I'm still very happy with my captivate. If you like being in a more open OS, its definitely for you. After you do a little tweaking, its just as good as the big dog android phones on other carriers as well. The GPS fix IS coming in September (confirmed by Samsung). If you're bored of iOS (or being locked in to Apple) I highly recommend this phone.

@dmachine01 No, it just makes your phone faster, nothing more. No downfalls aside from it taking your internal sd storage from 2 gigs to 1 gig.

@uvlight im pretty sure you can through the recovery boot menu. Shut down the phone, then hold down the volume up and down buttons along with the power button as you boot up, release after you see the AT&T world phone screen. should be an option in there.

@Hollywould1999 unfortunately, the lag fix for me was... well... less than simple. i'll try and get around to it, but im not even sure if i could redo the fix haha
it was crazy complicated for me.
I'll see what i can do though :)
