NICE. You fucked up the Stage 2 boss really well. :D It seems you play the game pretty much the same way as I do. You're just way more precises with the power-up pickups and a better play overall. I am happy to know that I am not the only one who doesn't get every enemy ship at the start of Stage 2. :D
@SuperBrobot -- It stutters, right? And your computer has a multi-core processor? That's the problem, and the workaround is running the game via (free utility) RunFirst, which forces the game to run on a single core of the processor instead of switching between multiple cores. Give the game another shot -- its status as a classic is well-deserved.
Oddly enough I bumped into a website that told me about this today, ended up loading up this thing on my laptop. Now I can get this game to work on the desktop.
I don't remember seeing those "angelic" space ship enemies in the first level. Is this a new version of the game or something? On mine, they don't appear. o_O

Those "angelic" enemies will appear if you break the previous two big enemies quickly. Please try.

Ahh crap, I think this is just on the 68k version..
PC version snapshots show the enemies, but I have yet to encounter them. =/

NO. It's a normal mode.
These little ships will appear when you don't break the first mode of the second boss for a while.
