  • The atheist homophobe wants to debate anyone who supports gay marriage

  • Ellen- I appreciate all that you do and have done and am so thankful that there are people out there with the necessary critical thinking skills to see through the absurdities and contradictions of religion.

  • Not to achieve freedom from RELIGION but Christianity, Don't generalize Mam!

  • You can't go to hell for this but you said "Toleration" surely you meant " Tolerance"

It is the only fault I can find in your speech which is a very good score when compared to "the other lot " !!

  • Ellen, I don't know why you are an atheist. As long as you are still alive here on Earth, you still have a chance at salvation. I hope Madaleine O'hare found salvation from Christ right before she died by her murderer's hands. Atheists do not die atheists, they die screaming and praying. I know many who watch these videos will strongly disagree, but they will find out the reality when the time comes for them.

  • @mycorolla07... actually her name is spelled Madalyn Murray O'Hair.

  • Comment removed

  • @mycorolla07 There is no god , no heaven , no hell, no after life - Enjoy your life it is the only one you will ever have. Your life is precious because it is yours !!

  • @domnal You betcha! Ditto.

  • @knapper2000 Was it this you picked up on as I can't find a post I sent to you - Thanks

There is no god , no heaven , no hell, no after life - Enjoy your life it is the only one you will ever have. Your life is precious because it is yours !! - I did send this to someone else but clearly my "transmission" was intercepted by an intelligent life form !! Gene Rodenberry was interested in finding intelligent life forms on other planets. I am still looking for them on Earth !!

  • @domnal Probably.

  • I just want to say serving GOD is a priviledge and in no way does it make us superior to non believers. I personally have NEVER felt more at peace then I do now knowing that I am doing as GOD commanded. If I am wrong and there is no Heaven or hell........no biggy. If I am right though...Well, Lets just say I like those odds alot more than if I believed otherwise: ) I urge you to get right with GOD before it's too late.

  • @roddy35wv i'm an athiest but thank you for being open minded. not enough religious ppl are and that's just hypocritical in their case.

  • @roddy35wv "If I am wrong and there is no Heaven or hell........no biggy" - That has to be the biggest single dumb reason to believe in a particular flavour of god. The evidence exists to convince that he exists, or it doesn't. Try telling that little line in a room of academics (even the ones that profess to the same religion), you would be laughed out of the room. It's called Pascals wager and it is noted to be that stupid.

  • @roddy35wv I think your notion for believing is deeply flawed and downright disturbing. So, essentially, you believe out of convenience in case your god and the supposed paradise he offers for your worshipping him come to pass. Well, I am proud to say as an atheist that I do the right and moral thing because doing so is right and moral, not because I believe some deity is going to reward me after I pass or because that possibility exists. Shame on you.

  • very smart woman.good looking too. all this reliigon in schools/govt only got it's start this century in 1954 with in god we trust pushe dby southern politicians whoi used religion to gain popularity

  • @otherworldtrader1 And Votes !!

  • @AtheosRecords for grins and giggles I looked up Planck Time. I'd not heard of this. To me this is pretty cool, really, in that 'time' as a measurement looks to be a physical property, the universe is so expansive this unit seems necessary.I have to ask you, don't you see God in this too?Laws are depended on for these calculations to work;photons moving through a vacuum are depended on for accuracy and light speed is not a constant. What is your area of study?I'm a trash truck driver on Holiday

  • @AtheosRecords The Bible comprising 66 books using 40 different authors from all walks of life written over 1,500 yrs in 3 languages on 3 continents by God's inbreathing wrote a verifiable message with a perfect thread throughout that has stood serious scrutiny for over 2000yrs is not imagination

Right now 40 dudes in a room can't show that kind of agreement

God's Word is truth and life and can be trusted. It stands alone in a dark world and gives light and life when believed and lived out :)

  • @AtheosRecords Really?!? Sir! The same can be said for the computer you are using. If the matter in your computer is eternal in some state you should be able to explain its designer by the parts in it.But for it to design itself it must preexist itself and with no explanation for the origin of the energy or the forces at workORthe intelligence necessary THEN produce the final reality AND work perfectly;and that poor comparison is far less complex than the life you and I possess

    InTheBeginningGod!

  • @AtheosRecords SO .. OK which is it? IS it my imagination or Biblical teaching? Please make up my mind for me.

    God IS Awesome!!!

  • @AtheosRecords You keep speaking of time. When will it occur to you that time by necessity has a beginning? If reality were as you say then time and entropy would not exist.

But the truth is 'In The Beginning God'

God is the first cause and transcends matter, space and time.God is LOVE and offers you a personal relationship!!!This IS something to get REALLY excited about!!!We can know the CREATOR PERSONALLY!!!

  • @AtheosRecords Incorrect;God spoke the Universe(One=Uni + Verse=Sentence)into existence less than 10,000 years ago.The Pre-flood earth supported Dinosaurs+humanity in a super oxygen-rich atmosphere protected by a H20 canopy filtering harmful deep space radiation for 1,000years then Judgment a cataclysmic flood gave us fossilized remains and subterranean petroleum reserves; The truth of the Bible will set you free. There was no death until sin but Jesus conquered sin and God has a plan for d-future

  • @AtheosRecords The Bible claims to be the words inspired by the one present at creation; God Himself. While your authorities claim a cold and impersonal cosmological accident produced all that is thus rendering us meaningless and human life becomes exceedingly cheap and is the bane of the earth and population numbers then become something that should be eliminated, that's your good news.

NO! God created the Heavens and the Earth and you are of inestimable value Created in the image of God

  • your going to hell if you don,t get saved!

  • @guyNbluejeans And people who believe in unicorns and magic are totally sane?

  • @HarrysSecret I don't think there are any unicorns but as far as magic goes I suppose it depends on how you define it. But what does any of this have to do with my comment?

  • @guyNbluejeans The bible is full of magic and the Koran's best known fairy tale is about the unicorn rides to heaven.

I didn't have the energy to search for a Jewish/Hindu/Buddhist/(Insert Myth of choice here) example.

Atheists don't really spend an awful lot of time thinking about all this magic, fantasy stuff. We tend to just get on with life, helping each other out and raising families and building careers.

    We prefer reality.

Is that really strange and creepy?

  • Comment removed

  • @HarrysSecret What's strange and creepy is that which you left out -- your denial of the reality of Almighty God!

You go about like a soulless ghoul denying the most obvious of all while flattering yourself ... as if you're the end all and be all.

    Yup; strange and creepy.

  • @guyNbluejeans You mean Father Christmas surely?

You're just following the current myth.

That makes you: illogical, probably under-educated, superstitious, judgemental, hysterical and sounding a little evangelical there

Yup, you're strange 'n' creepy too!

  • @HarrysSecret If you were so "logical" you'd not make assumptions about the particulars of what another knows to be true ... before letting loose with (hollow) sarcasm. Your obvious inability to exercise quality thinking is disturbing. But then again, what else can one expect from a soulless ghoul that walks around denying the undeniable?

  • @guyNbluejeans Thanks for proving my last comment true.

people will think you're my sock account.

    Lulz...

  • @HarrysSecret Huh?

  • I used to be an atheist. I was challenged to find GOD and, well, so I did. If you ask GOD to show Himself to you, He will (not in a visual aspect). challenge GOD to show Himself to you and He will. Satan uses atheism as one of his best tools to keep people from accepting the truth and believing in GOD.

  • Ellen Johnson for president of USA!!!

  • @NoIVIERCY1 look who's talking!! go look int the mirror and youll see the true definition of Homosexual.

  • Most of the atheists i know if not all are bitter about something, maybe they lost a kid or husband , but they all have that bitterness in them, she doesn't look too happy to me , maybe she is hurting inside and never got a prayer answered? Also some atheists need to get over themselves and realize that they are not the center of the universe...

  • @yewwwtoob "Some atheists need to get over themselves and realize that they are not the center of the universe."

What you should have said was "most Christians" LOL

  • @nosajj12345

    yeah some of them too...

  • The Bible Answers How do we know if God really exist Part 1 by bro. eli soriano watch, to enlighten your soul

  • The Bible Answers How do we know if God really exist Part 1

  • @rodulfo9999 What makes the bible a source of truth or knowledge?

  • athiest = dissapointments in life, blaming god, turn them to non believers, i suggest try to listen to bro. eli soriano, ask him what you want to know about the bible and GOD, dont be so judgemental be fair.

  • athiest = dissapointments in life, blaming god, turn them to non believers, i suggest try to listen to bro. eli soriano, ask him what you want to know about the bible and GOD, dont be so judgemental be fair.

  • Why did they vote for her resignation? I heard she was forced to step down. Whats that about?

  • As an atheist, it makes no real sense to blame any group of individuals. If God is dead, yes it´s very obsolete, and yes we can then make everything a relative moral discussion. We would be our own Law, and shun from inmoirtality we bring heaven here on earth. But if, if there was evidence on this earth, that the irrational and spiritual exist. We wouldn´t care about gay right nor would we create a law when there already is one. But this is NOT the case for this argument. No God, blame ourselves

  • I cannot support or deny Christianity, the argument is not whether you belief or not, you simply do not and despise it according to evidence of what it´s done. Christianity has a divine basis regardless of how we as a race result as an outcome. I´ll believe you´re an atheist because you find it hard to believe, not because the world is destroyed. I know religion has created a disaster, but religion is an utopian system set up on divine standards (or "invented" ones)..humans show how they are.

  • People, we should not be offended that there are christians or other theists out there that believe eternal hellfire in the hereafter awaits non believers.

They are living proof that religion is a mental illness. Its a battle that they will ultimately loose. Now that, I have faith in.

  • @BatNuklier I can see you're still on the road to recovery following your lobotomy.

  • Excelllent vid..all true.

  • Love this lady

  • i think she contradicted herself, she said that usa , partly was for retreating from religion, than later she said, that, there was not freedom from religion,,,re usa...

    or am i wrong

  • Ellen is quite attractive.

  • @brianrock11 tsk tsk tsk "thou shall not kill"........you are going to hell, boy !!

  • @brianrock11 There is no hell. And you've just communicated a threat on federal airwaves. I might refer you to my atheist boys at the FBI. Maybe you should disavow the conspiracy while you have a chance before we kick your door in.

  • @brianrock11 How very christian or Muslim of you

  • lolzWHAT IS THIS A NEW RELIGION OR WHAT?,AND THAT magazine is her bible.lolz..men always has a emptyness in their heart, that just GOD can fill with joy and happyness

  • stupid lady. hope you experience hell one day and you won't get to see your love ones again!!!! stupid bitch.

  • @TranThanhHai1 There's no such thing as hell, dumbass. And it's very "Christ-like" of you to wish death on someone.

  • @TranThanhHai1 Just what jesus will say how christian of you

  • @TranThanhHai1 There is no heaven or hell, so how can she experience it? This is the only life you get so deal with it.

  • @TranThanhHai1 Jesus would be SO proud of you. Why are you so full of hate towards someone with a different world view as you? If hell really did exist, it would be full of people like you.

  • There are at least 30 million of us. Our silent days are over. You'll remember us this November because we have an excellent voting record and we don't give much for faith...we prefer DEEDS. Guess which "kind of" candidates we're backing?

Palin in 2012? Bring her on...it will be a treat to smite that dingbat on day ONE! Mitt with Holy underwear? We'll sweep the floor with it...eh with him!

Republicans have no serious candidates and certainly no serious vision. Blind faith can do that!

  • 4:00 - vague, general entity? Does she posses 100% of all knowlege in the universe? Hmmm, maybe there is a God. Takes a lot of faith to believe all this happened by chance.

  • @rwlt Nobody posses 100% of all knowlege, but that doesn't mean we should fill in the gaps with the bullshit fairytail of our choice. We should continue in our quest for answers. Religion actively discourages the persuit of knowledge.

  • In the USA alone by comparison, infinitely MORE atheists have actually READ the Bible, than Christians. Atheists actually HAVE arguments in support of their views, while Christians don't. Atheists are intelligent and educated, while most Christians are not. A typical Christian's respond to rejection of and the question why they believe the Bible? "Because the Bible says so."

Those are facts, not opinions. Sadly, Christians don't put much faith in facts, they prefer fairy tales and lies.

  • @live4entertainment have you tried occultism and spiritual tampering despite not believing in anything? I was an atheist as well, read more than enough searched for answers so i feel you....I enmeshed in occultism just to investigate and found new answers. I don´t follow occultism anymore, but I believe in God now.

  • @DianaBetancur1 sad sad answer.... just because you are a so stupid to go try "ocultism" that doesn't mean all people are like you. By definition an atheist is a person that doesn't fall for things without evidence. There is no evidence that ocultism is real or works in any way. Therefore, a true atheist would NEVER try something like that. You're just a gullible person. You don't stand for facts and reality so you will fall for anything, even the absurd god of christianity.

  • @CarolinaSantacruzO I´m not writing to you. STUPID BRAINLESS people stick to immediate answers without further investigation. STUPID people think they have all the answers and are arrogant like you. Stupid people don´t give other options a chance even if it faults logic or evidence. Don´t go around offending people for the purpose of offending, you don´t portray much of yourself by doing so. You´re not always right nor do you have all the facts. Go contradict someone else

  • @DianaBetancur1 exactly what I expected from a believer. cero arguments cero logic explanations and a lot of violence. Exactly like your "god of the armies". Again, sad.

  • @CarolinaSantacruzO I was atheist when I wrote that....sounds pretty logical and rational to me. I really could give a sh*t if you were atheist or not. The issue is that you hate people that believe, based on their beliefs in general. This is a psychological issue called hatred and intolerance which hurts you NOT us the "weak", so check your soul...oh I forgot you don´t have one. :(

  • @DianaBetancur1 "Us the weak"... weak of mind, perhaps? I really don't hate you. I hate the work of the believers, I hate that the children are taught not to think by themselves, they are taught there is heaven and hell and that the only reason they have to behave is because there is god who punishes those who don't. Christians talk about science without knowing a bit about it. Christians want that people in the states remain ignorant when they attack evolution.

  • @CarolinaSantacruzO I was being cynical with the work "weak". You hate ME becuase I´m a believer, and any belief system...because people are so "stupid" and gullible, etc etc. This is atheist emotional perspective on everyone else and is natural response as such. And the Christian "justice" system is above all minds, so you project your human self and see a human based God, of course it seems unfair. Christianity is not a blunt explanation. But I´m not here to argue or convert, what really

  • @CarolinaSantacruzO shakes me is why on earth should any atheist be bothered that people believe (regardless how irrational) that is. If you were rational you would be content with your own ethics and belief system alias atheism. This should not be a reason to go around calling others stupid. And by being offensive you´re not being an attractive example of atheism.Since your no missionary why preach your thoughts? Winning others over to a more "rational" approach or just some unconscious need to

  • @DianaBetancur1 It amazes me how you can't understand why I have to speak up. There are civil rights being violated by the mainstream culture of believers. Religion doesn't make a better world, it fills it with problems. I have to speak up because many people are suffering because of religion. Kids are being raped, women are being disrespected and kept from contraception, churches are evading taxes, and the pope is championing the elimination of condoms. See? your beliefs aren't harmless

  • @DianaBetancur1 Christians push their believes onto everyone as if they were true. Christians are hypocrites that talk about love yet support their born again christian president Bush to start a war, where thousands of innocents died. Christians attack gay people and make their lives even worse, christians promote discrimination against other cultures and other beliefs. That is what I hate.

  • I'm sorry if you find my interest in a better education, liberty of and from religion and tolerance towards gays unreasonable. Some people prefer being told what to do by their priests to having opinions on their own. However -again-, no I don't hate you; my family in law is very catholic and I love them, that doesn't keep me from disagreeing with them when they have such antiquated wrong beliefs.

  • @CarolinaSantacruzO I cannot support or deny Christianity, the argument is not whether you belief or not, you simply do not and despise it according to evidence of what it´s done. Christianity has a divine basis regardless of how we as a race result as an outcome. I´ll believe you´re an atheist because you find it hard to believe, not because the world is destroyed. I know religion has created a disaster, but religion is an utopian system set up on divine standards (or "invented" ones)..

  • @CarolinaSantacruzO I agree. I don´t hate though, you can´t beat evil with evil, but with a different response. But let´s reason. If Christianity is a man made religion, and invention of the mind (as Islam as Bubddhism, as Hinduism) then religion is inexistent and serves many purposes, among them mass control. Then if it doesn´t exist, why do you hate believers? You hate human nature since religion is only a man made invention. There are good and bad people despite their belief system, so

  • @CarolinaSantacruzO clarity of who your hating is not so clear. Further more it´s farfetched to assume that it was the Christian´s fault Bush did this or that. My point is, "hating" is an ultimate expression in which both Christians and atheists are in. Christians live up to an utopia, atheists are realists and embrace their nature, but both conserve dual nature. Being a believer makes me as human as you are.

  • @DianaBetancur1 exactly what I expected from a believer. Zero arguments Zero logic explanations and a lot of violence. Exactly like your "god of the armies". Again, sad.

  • @CarolinaSantacruzO Stop going in circles...you´re flooding with reasonable arguments, and evidence that you have something impartial to say....gluck

  • @DianaBetancur1 need to be right?

  • @CarolinaSantacruzO In a nutshell....would you blame our Christian God for this mess? No...because he´s not real to you. If he´s not, then the belief sytem called Christianity is also man made. Meaning? It reflects solely human nature. So if you want to blame the world because it´s scrued blame the evidence...humans.

  • @CarolinaSantacruzO I guess <<i´ll hear from you some other time. We´re neighbors, yo soy de Colombia and I´m 24 like yourself...take care

  • @live4entertainment you compare crazy christians to brilliant atheists... i could actually replace every time you said christian with atheist, and atheist with christian. however, i do agree on your point, but you're comparing in a way that's really... wierd i guess. either way, religion, or lack thereof, is a personal thing. to each their own.

  • @live4entertainment a fairy tale is a story where a frog turns into a prince, just give it enough time. Give it as much time as you want; a million years, a billion, billions and billions, THAT's a fairy tale.

The most scientific statement of all time is found in the first sentence of the Holy Bible; In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

  • @xtremixt1 allah is satan. read the quran again and carefully this time

  • When we die, that's it. Live with it. Billions before us are fine with it, and all who follow meet the same end. Eternal unconsciousness. What's the big whoop?

Religious zealots spend their life preaching about hell fire (for others) and heaven (for themselves); the endless stick & carrot game. That's for the less intelligent. The rest of us have no problem with reality.

  • There were several recent posts flagged as spam that were not spam. I deleted a few of them before I realized this. My apologies to those who lost a few posts.

It seems that Youtube's spam flag is definitely flawed.

  • Great speech.

  • Faith is a wonderful thing for those who have it. For the rest of us, it really serves no useful purpose. Most people with whom I would never sit at a dinner table (because I can not respect them, due to their deeds and personalities) belong to some kind of religious organization.

It seems much more likely to find decent human beings among those who do not profess a religion. Religion doesn't add to the good of a person's character, nor does the lack of religious faith subtract from it.

  • @thursdaysrecords yea so if we all followed the ten commandments we all would have bad personalities and not be decent ppl look guy dnt confuse YWHW with man's traditions and ideas. your already a victim of satan and you know it not and on top of being dumb to history you think your smart intellect can be a suicidal weapon with no faith just ask lucifer when you meet him cause you will one day. turn now and go to your savior Jesus Christ

  • i wish she was my wife. she is an example of a woman. smart, beautiful, fearless and real. wonderful woman trying to keep human race on rational and non deluded track. it is worth living and hoping for good.

  • 100% ture. A woman like her can save the world.

  • @TheAtheistworld if you think your here for no reason and life just happened then your truly an idiot sry to be so blunt. dnt wait till you come back cause if you make it to the end God will kill ya then he will bring you back explain himself and then kill you again for good

  • @mr44doom i think u r here for no reason.

  • @TheAtheistworld obviously your think is non-functoinal so your insult hold no weight. not trying to step down on you just want you to know the truth. trust me one day you'll eat your words.so sad

  • @pinoypreacher2010 - Preach on, penis.

  • When we die, that's it. Live with it. Billions before us are fine with it, and all who follow meet the same end. Eternal unconsciousness. What's the big whoop?

  • @schlummieleinchen you eternally dumb. whats the big whoop.lol read a bible bro

  • She's amazing! I wish she was still the president of our organization.

  • @GiaAndScott

    She is amazing. Thank you.

  • If people could only accept their mortality and that there is no after life, humankind would be so much better for it.

Life is beautiful, but it ends. There is no heaven to hope for, not hell to fear, just eternal nothingness.

We're born, we live, we die, the end. Why is that so terrible? Only the greedy religious people insist they shall have more, more, always more. The main theme of any faith: GREED!

Life's a banquet. Stop preaching the virtues of starvation diets.

  • @live4entertainment i dnt read of anything God did of being greedy in the bible???why do atheist takes man traditon and ideas of god and put it in the place of God. read all the books and ask yourself which one makes sense if any the bible always wins. i bet the roman papacy takes a forefront in this new world order being started my bible told me so.lol

  • "The God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time; the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them."

    - Thomas Jefferson

  • @Dystopiologist And I view that "God" as the choice all men must make. Will you choose to create, love, be compassionate? Or will you choose to destroy , break, instill fear. I think we see the same light source, just by different means my friend. Take care out there.

  • Poonard, well that is wonderful. Perhaps we are going in the same direction.

But Truth is another big concept. It's not good when people like Ellen Johnson misrepresent history, and the principles that founded the United States.

  • Poonard has stated it well: "Endowed by our Creator" does not mean anybody's god, but the principle of nature itself, the way things are, the realities of our existence, which gives us the right to pursue happiness of our individual choosing. Church/state separation derives from the 1st Amendment, has been interpreted that way by the Supreme Court and is a very strong part of national life, despite attacks by religious interests with ambitions to take over the nation and its culture.

  • I'm not atheist. BUT! I completely agree with most everything she has said and I support her ideas. This country IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!

  • Poonard,

In truth, Christianity does not support forced conversion either.

But I do believe in historical truth. The idea that our country was founded on so-called "enlightenment" principles is just false.

  • @Dystopiologist It was founded so that there was a separation of church and state, unheard of until we came along. whatcha talking about?

  • Where do you see "separation of church and state"? Which official document?

  • @Dystopiologist I'll hand it to you that it is not directly addressed in ANY official document, however, in a letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote to Danbury Baptist Church where he expresses that the first amendment separated church and state. Being one of the main authors of the constitution I would imaginge that he has more ability to interpret the document than you or I. Furthermore, how many countries follow suite after our example?

  • Yes, I understand that. And we agree that forced religious beliefs are a key idea that the Founders strove to prevent.

But the idea of a Creator - of some sort - was pivotal to the whole concept of our government. Would you agree?

  • @Dystopiologist The only thing you and I would disagree on is the term Creator where I would instead say "Creation" as more of a blanket statement for a spiritual creative energy that entangles us and everything. I agree though. These men were comprised of many beliefs though. Which is what makes this country so freakin amazing. But I agree mostly with what youa re saying. ;) Take care friend!

  • Thanks for the kind words, Poonard - and yes, we agree on most things.

But there's a problem with the "naturalist" interpretation - there is no moral authority here. That's why the Declaration of Independence uses the term "Creator" with a capital "C".

Rocks, bugs, trees, etc. have no moral authority. Darwin won't be of any help here. There must be a higher moral authority than man, or the whole concept of "inalienable rights" falls apart.

  • @Dystopiologist I think morals are readily available because of the character in which reality works, creation/destruction. You can feel it in your heart and consciousness when you make those choices in life which lead you down either one of those paths. I think the only difference is that you personify that into an entity, probably male? I'm guessing...and I see it more as a elemental situation in which we are all equally involved and emersersed

  • That's fine to "feel" that way, Poonard - but if you're an educated atheist, you'll concede that without a higher authority of some sort, objective morality simply doesn't exist.

Furthermore, you'll realize that human beings have the capacity to become absolutely, thoroughly depraved. This is obvious from history, and it is even shown experimentally.

Without a "Creator" - capital "C" - the notion of Natural Law falls apart.

  • "Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?"

    - Thomas Jefferson

  • Yabba, dabba, do

    -Fred Fintstone

  • Christians demand rights and respect but somehow refuse to give everyone else the same. Sounds like ME ME ME-ism instead of equality.

Keep your religion, and allow me to be free from that sort of BS. I'm asking only what you're demanding for yourself.

  • Amazing that she references the Declaration of Independence!

The whole thing hinges upon a "Creator".

  • @Dystopiologist The "Creator" referenced by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration is Nature. If he had meant "The Christian God" or "Jesus Christ" he would have written those words.

  • luvdomus,

    Nature?! That's a new one!

But what you don't understand is that a Creator is authoritative, nature is not. Nature doesn't bestow rights, luvdomus. That's ridiculous.

  • @Dystopiologist The Founders established the nation according to the Enlightenment principles of Natural Law, which is based on the structure of reality itself; which is not made by human beings, granted by Kings or supernatural beings; is the same for all human beings; is a natural pattern which is there for human beings to discover; is a means by which human beings can rationally guide themselves to their good. Christian fundamentalists are trying to hijack American values.

  • Fascinating.

You say this law is found in the "structure of reality itself", "not made by human beings", and is "there for human beings to discover".

Where do we look for this?

  • @Dystopiologist You could look for it in a history book on English Common Law, , the American and French Revolutions,

18th century philosophers such as John Locke, or just google the term and read a Wikipedia article about the moral thinking of the Founders. Natural law is found through human reason, not handed down to us in Scripture as if we are children obeying a parent.

  • You seem smart - can we reason this out together?

  • @luvdomus very well said! this should not threaten christians either. as a matter of fact, this should allow christians to practice more freely without having to feel like you MUST convert everyone because in this country it is understood that people can believe what they want to because "creation" or "nature" allows consciousness to explore many possibilities. This country is TRULY wonderful for that. :)

  • Okay,

For the record here, luvdomus either left on vacation, or cannot back up what he's saying.

    Which is it?

  • @Dystopiologist authoritative all loving god? lol!

  • mysticsicness "what is good"?

  • ex nihilo nihil fit

  • There is nothing wrong with dying for good. It is BEST that way people!

  • There is nothing to gain by talking about religion. I'm very well educated and at this point in life I'm an extremely bad candidate for any kind of conversion.

Been there, done that. I have no remaining faith about anything religious. I don't believe in God, in Jesus and certainly not in the Bible.

I know I will die and stay dead, and I'm OK with that.

What part of that do you think I should change? I'm happy, and I assume, so are you. So what's the problem?

  • @live4entertainment sry to hear that bro but you have an adversary thats wants you to believe that really consider your thoughts read your bible again the old testament is not only history but is typology meaning it is what happened what is happening and what will happen from geneology to numerology to biography to prophecy. i bet you in the coming days the roman papacy will start to take lead for a new world order my bible told me it would.lol get real

  • @live4entertainment Interesting comment. I don`t know what to say. I have a chap on my right saying that he doesn`t believe in The Bible, and I have another on my left saying he does. And they are both equally stupid.

I`m sure you`re smart enough to work that out.

  • You know the invisible and the non-existent share very similar qualities...

  • Indeed, per (Why) DY. Is it not flabbergasting that our 15,000 year hx of fabricating gods and their concomitant moronic advice to us is all based on categorical dishonesty, i.e. a bunch of oceanic lies?

  • Jesus is described beautifully in the Bible; John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,[d] who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." Jesus is the truth and is alive today. Disbelief at the point of death means a person will be separated from forever. This means eternal separation from love. I implore everyone reading this to believe in Jesus who died for our sins.

  • Why would WE care about us if WE are atheists ..Who cares about US when we are soon worm food ..? Sounds like she's not an atheist .. rather an anti religious ...Who cares if you are soon dad why care what is passed on to others .You have 25 more years max to get what ever you want because it's all over after that ..who cares about the past or history or the future ???So what ..who cares ??..She doesn't look happy she looks oppressed in fact . look at her eyes kids ..kinda dull huh ? left eye

  • ...maybe dreaming can be enjoyable if one can separate the dream from reality and the possibility of reality. "ghosts" are in practically all religions...they could have crept in because they point to reality even if yet so poorly understood.

maybe impatient people discard what they cannot yet prove?

space exploration was a dream once upon a time!

  • Some folks never outgrow the fairy tale age. They drop Santa, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy, but they keep the invisible spaghetti monster and all the ghosts of the Bible. Enjoy! You only live once, might as well dream a lot while you're here.

I prefer Reality. It's not that bad a place, without all the make believe and the lies. One life is plenty, unless you've been taught to be greedy, and that's what religion does, teaching its followers to never be satisfied. Like I said, enjoy!

  • fanny

You are the continually unsatisified one here.Christians are completely satisfied with life here and after. You are insecure with here and worried of after-else why do you ALWAYS pop up with these type comments?

  • have heard two minutes...can see the "drift" of the argument...

proving the Bible wrong really proves little !!!!

God may not be infinite...does HE/She have to be?

trillions of star systems and "matter" we don't really know much of,

what is dark matter? what are other dimensions? How do some people recall previous lives...and some have made predictions of some note...

there is still too much to consider. It's too early (and dishonest?) to conclude???

One wrong religion cannot justify atheism !!

  • We're born, we live, we die. The end. Live with it!

  • Ellen is a babe, and I like the cleavage

  • @fannynoise .

Still trying to convince yourself I see.Hard to believe you haven't talked yourself into that yet.Keep trying...maybe on your deathbed you will finally do it.

  • "What does christianity mean today?

National socialism is a religion, all we lack is a religious genius, capable of uprooting outmoded religious practices, and putting new ones in their place. One day soon, national socialism will be the religion of all germans. my party is my church, and I believe i serve the lord best if I do his will, that is my gospel." Joseph Goebbles

thus dont equate nazism this with skepticism. It is much more along the lines of dogmatic religious fanaticism.

  • whats that supposed to mean? theres more proof that there is a god than there is that indicates there isnt a god. someone had to create us, we couldnt come from nothing

  • That's YOUR opinion and has ZERO bearing on reality.

Nothing HAD to create us, just because your very closed view of the world doesn't allow that, doesn't make it true.

  • My view is very open. You have the closed view, choosing to ignore obvious facts and instead interject personal opinions. Please,in your opinion, what is the source of First Cause?

  • @Letsmakeasamich

how could you say that nothing had to create us? that is illogical. completely illogical. you believe that out of nowhere we poofed and started living?

  • Your making so little sense right now it's comical, SORRY I DON"T SEE THINGS LIKE YOU, doesn't make you right. I would believe a scientist anyday over a bible scholar.
