Flash Tutorial: Creating a Simple Preloader

I'd greatly appreciate it if I got some feedback on this. In line 15 I keep getting "syntax error: expecting semicolon before x" and "syntax error: expecting rightbrace before semicolon". I was copying the code directly from the video so I would like to know what I did wrong.

but it ignores the stop(); script for the rest of the video once I test it. does anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

@sarydactl PS--I took out the text line on purpose; even with it in, it still skips stop(); script

I dont have dynamic text. How do you get it?

@mwrig7 Select your text field, and in the properties Panel change the textfield type from static to dynamic at the top.

hey, i have already made my game, and trying to create a preolader, i'm doing everything that you do but always showing dots and never loaded my game...... plz help

thanks. worked well except that, like the previous comment, there is a about a 5 second delay before anything appears on the screen when simulating download. Also, for some reason I had to add a 2nd curly bracket at the end of the script for it to work. Probably some novice error copying. Using CS5.

Worked rather nicely, however it doesn't appear for a while once I've 'simulated download' and doesn't show text. I wasn't fussy in the beginning about the text part anyway so thank you!

Hmm, everything works for me except the text that's supposed to display the percentage loaded. Not sure why!

This works when all I'm using is images but when I put in audio, I dont hear it. I hear it from the timeline, but when I press ctl+enter to watch the video all together, I dont hear it. PLEASE HELP!

It didnt worked for me in flash CS5 gives me two errors

Hi! Thanx for the tutorial! It has been very helpful. The only problem that I have is that when I insert the swf on an .html document and upload it to my server, I get an error. The bar actually scales to the left side of the outline (completely out of it) and in the dynamic text field I get "Infinity". And the movie just never starts. None of this happens when I test it in my computer. If you could please give me a hand, I would appreciate it a lot. Thanx again!
