I recently bought the same fan in chocago and i cant seem to remove the blades. i removed the little screw on the side of the blade and it still wont come off . HELP
I have an old fan that is really heavy from about the year 1906 it doesnt work I bought it for a couple bucks it prolly needs cleaned I dont know but I dont know anything about tryin to fix it oin my own wish there was someone here to help me ,,,I love old antique things,,,I bough another fan I paid 5 dallers for its a single blade fan about 1920 IT WORKS I thought it was broken,,but its not,,it has one blade,,
I have one and can not figure out how to get the armature out of the front (the wiring needs to be replaced). I took out the front screws, but it won't budge. Is there something else holding it in, or am I being too delicate with it (I don't want to push too hard). Thanks for these...they're an enormous help for a newbie like me!
@HistoricHomesDR most of the models had the stator assembly pressed into the housing. so you will need a special puller to get it out without damaging the motor, without such tool your pretty much on your own to devise a way to do it. i modified a gear puller to pull the stator out of the fan
my dad did it and it never worked again

@Brian17919 spray it with wd40 and wait a day or so. then gently try and work it free. you might have to very carefully pry them off

Very good demonstration...those washers and spacers are important in other types of motor mechanisms too.
