  • I hope it will work on typically most of the sites in the web and the criteria to upgrade the ranking of a particular site is justifiable.

  • i think I have the same laptop as that gu y

  • Thank You, Now I know Google will be looking at my site about 3 times a year. This pretty much answers my question about how often I should submit sitemaps.

  • its been well over 7 months since the last page rank update. Have you stopped updating it or your corn job is too lazy to wake up??

  • With due respect, it's been 5 months since the last Pagerank Update. Hasn't it overshot the 3-4 months gap that you kept repeating in the video?

  • this isn't exactly mindblowing!

  • like 'google it' thats why

  • For traffic wise Pagerank is not more important. My blog just has a pr of 3 still it receives lots of traffic from Google itself.

  • @YaDunn0 :) CHECK 1,, 2 am I ok in your monitor ?

  • Am I correct in thinking that PageRank as used to compute search ranking is continually updated and acted upon and that the PageRank that we see in the toolbar is simply a public snapshot representation of what the internal PageRank was at the time?

So if your PR is suddenly 2 or 8 then you should have already noticed changes in SERPS. The public display is simply confirming that PR may be a factor in any changes?

  • When is the next pagerank? It's late.

  • @panthary tell me bout it. They have issues going on at the minute most peoples websites have not been cached since 1oth of august. I think mr google is having a few teccy errors.

  • where do i ask questions like made , london that actually get asked

  • As always pretty informative and yet not too revealing :-)

  • @TheSEOBOOK as always... there will be some bits and pieces that we need to fill up ourselves..

  • Who actually links to google.com ?

I can understand msn getting links from people pointing to news stories. But I can't remember the last time I saw a link to google.com. So why does it have such a high PR ?

Being cheeky I know, but it's a valid question.

  • @mq3500 There's plenty of content on Google's estate that is worth linking to, a lot of which will flow PageRank back to the home page. If you're really curious, why not use the Google Toolbar to find out where the backlinks are coming from?

  • @mq3500 google has 234675649 bl

  • @mq3500 tons of sites link to Google. Do a link: search and see a few of them. :-P

  • @mq3500 I know I've seen links to search results. While it's not linking to the google homepage, every result page has a link back to Google.com. So pagerank would flow back to the homepage from there.

  • @mq3500

Check linkto:google.com to see the backlinks (not exact)

More over they don't do SEO or backlinks job. They actually index all the web pages into the Google Server. So when the search Result is done, it check the pages in google index and display the relevant content. It is not always google pages are ranked high.

    @who actually links to G?

It's U,me .We simply place google links for their service like google. com/webmasters or other w/o any intention.bt Tht's how Backlinks shld be.

  • @mq3500 actually, Google has hundreds of millions of links pointing to it.

  • @mq3500 There are like 5 links to google just on this one youtube page where you asked the question :)

Also think of google sites, blogger and all those services that google provides for "free" where milions of people practically make content for google because google is linked from all of those pages.

  • @mq3500 Well look at Youtube. Youtube has billions of incoming links. And many of the youtube help and sub pages are on the google.com domain. Not only that but other Google products also go to the google.com domain and some even use that domain like Google + and Google profiles. And as things like Youtube are high in rank it will share to Google. Also many people link to search pages in Google in places like forums.
