I know the man who owns the field where that battle occured he has found a small cannon ball in his field. Apparently it was more like an ambush as a group of 30 union cavalry men where riding out to draw Anderson and his group of 50 or so into an ambush of 150 men waiting on the base of the tree line at the bottom of bluff according to local museum union had two small cannons. This was in response to Centralia massacre where anderson killed A LOT of blue coats
