The AUC may not exist in the eyes of some but the structure still exists and they are still used by the state to carry out executions or anyone who opposes them.
I have worked in Colombia for over 2 years on various human rights missions. An d I can say yes the FARC and ELN are both complicit in murder, but no where on the scale of the paramilitaries and the Colombian armed forces. Let me start by saying that I in no form or manor do I agree with the actions of FARC or the ELN. The deaths of innocent people is wrong and thats final. But the fact of the matter is that this situation exists because of a never ending line of corrupt governments in Colombia. The AUC may not exist in the eyes of some but the structure still exists and they are still used by the state to carry out executions or anyone who opposes them.

I have worked in Colombia for over 2 years on various human rights missions. An d I can say yes the FARC and ELN are both complicit in murder, but no where on the scale of the paramilitaries and the Colombian armed forces. And Uribe being a narco president doesnt bother you thats fine, but the reality is he is corrupt. Plan Colombia is a failure. The pretext of combating drugs is fallacy.
