  • i also have the same problem with my 92 GT... did you find out what it was could u maybe help me out?

  • stupid 5.0 lover your need hardend pushrods when you use guide plates

  • what postion is that intake valve at? make sure your valve is fully seated. if it is, i think your pulling the lower intake off to replace a lifter.

  • Did the noise start after a missed shift or high rpm? Sounds like a collapsed lifter. With that cyl at TDC, both pushrods should be the same height (assuming your engine has same length for IN and EX).

  • Hows your oil psi? Does the tick get louder as rpms increase? Could be a collapsted lifter. I've had quite a few before.

  • @68mustangcoupe1 I'm pretty sure that the oil sure is good but im not 100% the bottom end of the engine was rebuilt about 20k miles ago and the top end, about 4k miles ago if that helps any. I have another video on my page of what it sounds likes. when i rev the engine the sound will not get louder but it will become more rapid and faster sounding

  • @BLOWN87stang I listened to the other video. It really sounds like a lifter to me. If you don't have good oil pressure or if it hits zero it could be the oil pump drive snapped. I'm betting its a lifter though.
