  • theres no such thing was "pop lockin"! its either popping or lockin.... and peaches was locking!

  • I fell in love with Jan Berry when I was 7 in 1962.. Jan Berry of JAN AND DEAN. At 3 or 4 I saw him and Dean on American Bandstand doing BABY TALK......I have older sisthers. Everytime they were on American Bandstand I was up close and glued to the TV.....The 1960 s and 1070 s were my American Bandstand years but I watched all the speacials and if Mr Dick Clark produced it, I watched it.

  • @rockinrobintweets meant 1970 s

  • Glad to have been part of your life dancing on American Bandstand.....we were one big family coast to coast....dancing to rock 'n'roll......and having a ball....

    ..Bunny Gibson

  • @BunnyGibson1 Hi Bunny I just watched this clip and was wondering when you were first on the show? I have a 1957 yearbook of the show and it list most of the dancers. Did you come after that yearbook was put out ? One of the dancers I know from way back then Mary Di Piano , I knew the family and worked with her brother. Hope all is well. Thanks for the memories. Albert Vandetty

  • Wow! Somehow they got the clothes all wrong!

  • Comparing American Bandstand and Soul Train is comparing apples to oranges. They were both good and served their respective audiences.

  • Soul-Train was better !!

  • Remember when there were actual "dance steps"? Now couples just stand together and sway back and forth . . . . :-( Don't think that's "dancing".

  • Indeed remember the American Bandstand on Saturdays during the '70s and '80s. what has happened to Saturdays, not to mention television period??

  • hi free2drm..joann n i are room mates! lol! after all these years! i talk to peaches a few times a week. joann is not on facebook. you can leave a msg here if you like & i'll make sure she sees it. :o)

  • Joann Orgel & Peaches were my favorite dancers. I wish the episodes from the 70's was on DVD.

  • Joann Orgel was my favorite dancer. I wish the episodes from the 70's was on DVD.

  • Those days will always be with us....they left an incredible impact...we were very lucky teenagers to have experienced the early days of rock 'n' roll, American Bandstand & Elvis!

  • @BunnyGibson1

I so agree with you Bunny. What a great time. I loved it.

  • @BunnyGibson1

I remember you on the show like it was yesterday.

You look great and can still shake that floor up.

God love ya and all the other Bandstand regulars!

  • @balboa62 Let's no forget Justine Carelli (sp), Ken Rossi, and of course, Miss Arlene Sullivan.

  • since when is there a competition between AB and Soul Train ?....its all about having fun and enjoying being young...enough with the pitting race v race

  • I just subscribe to Soul train &

The Ed Sullivan Show channels. I wonder why

Dick Clark doesn't have a channel for

    Original American Band Stand .

    Love these shows:)

  • @balboa62 For awhile, Ilived in Levittown, New Jersey, in the "Rancher" house when I went to Bandstand. Took me an hour and a half to get there. Would stand on Rt. 38 in my Catholic school uniform waiting for the bus to take me to Philly from Holy Cross High School with my hatbox full of Bandstand clothes in my hand. After the bus arrived in Philly, I would take another bus to 46th & Market Sts. arriving dressed in my Bandstand clothes and hair teased in a "Beehive" or twist. Fun days!

  • @BunnyGibson1 Wow! Loved to read all the details; I went to Frankford HS & Bandstand was steady part of our diets then. Wish I could locate some of the dance contests they aired. Never forget the finals danced to Freddy Cannon, Tallehasee Lassie. What a time to be a teen! :)

  • In describing the 50s, the host shows his ignorance in saying "..the music was 'be bop'.." which of course is wrong--- he means "doo wop."

  • doo wop, bebop and r&r all popular...but I would guess be bebop was not played on Bandstand much if at all.

  • What about Johnny Stark

  • Now, that's something I didn't know BunnyGibson. Never knew you stuffed the top fold...California teens had sock hops too..THEN we wore the Bobby Socks with our loafers...*S*

  • NO one in Caliornia would EVER wear socks with their flats. That's the EAST Coast look...lol

  • You're right, this is east coast ....not only socks, but "bobby socks" and we would put tissues under the top fold of the socks to make them look fatter. The "Sock Hop" came from having dances at high school gyms and taking your shoes off and dancing in your socks so as to not scratch the floor :-)

  • *waves to Bunny* this is SOOO koo thanks.

  • @MsTexas73 Thanks MsTexas.....glad you enjoyed our American Bandstand memories.....All the Regulars - dancers that are highlighted for each decade are just genuinely nice, fun people.....dancing keeps us all young!

  • @BunnyGibson1 I'll be dancing on "How I Met Your Mother" as one of 65 principal dancers in a New York Broadway style number called "Suits" on January 11th. There is a pic of myself and Jason Segel on my Facebook page.....no matter what, keep on dancing!

  • I would've loved living in rock and roll heave in the 80's the sock hop, the poodle skirts, the leather jackets, the hamburgers and milk shakes. Oh square 50's was awesome.

  • Love Peaches!

  • Does anyone have the instrumental mid 70's theme played at the beginning of this clip available? Leave a message for me if someone has it.

  • is anyone else having trouble finding episodes on here?i am surprised i cannot find more i miss vh1 rereuns of it

  • it's because they were kinescopes and not very good quality I guess, but there is a video (vhs) out there with big bopper, sam cooke, fabian and many others on it. Again, kinescope and not good quality but something is better than nothing

  • The woman in the poodle skirt still looks great!!

  • The 70's were the best time! :)

  • BS! The 80s were the best!

  • This is ridiculous, a show that was so popular and hardly any footage on youtube... especially hardley any 80's footage. Such a disappointment.

  • baby boomer obessesionism at its worst

  • Bunny Gibson did not age ONE BIT from 1959 to the date of this clip!! I love it!

  • check out little richard this stuff refuses to die!

  • hi everyone, 1st of all, gbyh20, i think you're being a bit harsh, i hope you don't attack me like that & we end up going back & forth. that ugly ass dress they put on JoAnn was not flattering at all! she didn't even dance in the 60s but since Peaches was there, they used her for 60s.all wardrobe only had that dress. she looked thin. i had dinner with Jo last night, & she looks great. still the same nice sweet gal i've known 34 years. you're not sorry if you insult. not nice. have a good day.

  • @discoqueen713 JoAnn was my favorite. Do you knowif she is on Facebook or Myspace?

  • Why did they cut out the rest of the interviews? Peaches and etc?

  • I love the set from fall of '82 to '87. Very attractive

  • Hi Bunny! I was a regular from 80 -83. Can you post the rest of the interview with the other dancers? I missed that show. Would appreciate it. You look great! ~Angel

  • That is so cool you were on there--my era!!!

  • Peaches Johnson! Girlfriend, you look great!!

  • The 1974 theme is my thrid favorite main theme and the second best commercial cue first being the 1986-88 commercial cue and main themes being Bandstand Boogie 77

  • American Bandstand forever!
